Consultant Interventional Cardiologist

Responsibilities
The incumbent will:

Manage in-patients and out-patients including daily ward rounds and provide on-call services as required.
Participate in the cath lab and ambulatory services according to privileges.
Educate parents on informed consent, choice of attending physician and right to seek second opinion.
Teach and supervise fellows, residents, SHOs and other clinical staff
Participate in the review and development of appropriate policies and procedures for patients’ healthcare
Participate in case writing and research within the unit.

Requirements

Must have a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.Ch.B) or equivalent
Must have MMED in Internal Medicine or its equivalent
Must have completed a fellowship in Cardiology or equivalent
Should have at least 4 years’ experience in cardiology (three of which may be during a recognized fellowship and one should be post fellowship)
Should be registered by KMPDC as a specialist
Must have valid Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (BLS &ACLS)
Should demonstrate competency and dexterity with all equipment utilized in the hospital environment.
