Consultant – Health Workforce

Purpose of consultancy
To provide technical input to the:

Global Strategic Directions for Nursing and Midwifery 2021-2025;
Planning and execution of the tenth WHO Global Forum for Government Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officers (GCNMOs). 

Deliverables: 
Activity 1. Global Strategic Directions for Nursing and Midwifery 2021-2025.

Deliverable 1.1:  Participate in the organization and coordination of SDNM-focused webinars and online events hosted on the Nursing and Midwifery Global Community of Practice platform, according to the established plans.  
Expected by: 28 February 2023; 31 March 2023; 30 July 2023; 31 August; 30 September 2023.
Deliverable 1.2:  Routinely post discussion questions and facilitate the online discussion amongst the 9th Triad Meeting Group via the Nursing and Midwifery Global Community of Practice platform. 
Expected by: every two weeks throughout the contract period. 

Activity 2. 10th Global Forum of Government Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officers.

Deliverable 2.1:  Collect the provision of inputs into the agenda from WHO colleagues at all three levels, relevant partners, and GCNMO representatives.
Expected by 31 March 2023.
Deliverable 2.2:  Liaise with identified speakers to provide briefing notes, ensure preparation of presentations and talking points.
Expected by 31 May 2023.
Deliverable 2.3:  Contribute to the execution of the two-day virtual meeting from an onsite meeting location at WHO Headquarters.
Expected by 10 June 2023.

Qualifications, experience, skills and languages.
Educational Qualifications:
Essential:

Advanced degree in Public Health, Global Health, or related Social Science.

Desirable:

Degree in Nursing or Midwifery.

Experience
Essential:

Over 10 years of experience in health systems or in global health, preferably in the field of health workforce, health systems, health education, emergencies and/or universal health coverage.

Desirable:

Over five years working with senior nursing and/or midwifery leaders from a variety of country income classification groups.  

Skills
Essential:

Demonstrated expertise, knowledge sharing, research, Nursing, and health workforce emergencies requirements.

Desirable:

Familiarity with the WHO global strategies for health workforce strengthening towards UHC and the related/aligned strategy for nursing and midwifery workforces.
