Construction Manager

Key responsibilities

Carry out site measurements in an accurate and timely manner in line established guidelines.
Draft clients’ contracts, discuss and agree on the contract terms with the client to ensure closure.
Create program of works for each project and ensure timely dissemination to clients.
Requisition for procurement of installer(s) for each project.
Ensure timely mobilization of construction goods and approved installer for each project.
Inspect on-going construction works to ensure they conform to the installation drawings and consultants’ instructions.
Monitor each project to ensure completion within the set timelines and cost.
Requisition for weekly payments for installers to ensure timely payments.
Attend site meetings with clients and consultants and prepare the related correspondences or reports in a timely manner.
Ensure compliance to health and safety guidelines by installers including wearing the right PPEs.
Confirm and sign off completed works with the client and issue practical completion certificates.
Ensure snagging works are executed within the defect liability period.
Carry out project valuations in order to receive certification of completed works and subsequent payments.
Support the commercial team to attend to technical questions from clients relating to the Company’s products.
Prepare and submit weekly progress reports in a timely manner.
Supervise, motivate, coach and develop the clerk of works to ensure high productivity and engagement in the team.
Any other responsibilities that may be assigned to the job holder by the supervisor from time to time.

Internal Relationships:
The Construction Manager is:

Directly accountable to the Head of Projects and Engineering.
Required to work with the production, commercial, dispatch and finance teams in the company.

External Relationships:

Clients
Main Contractor
Installers
Clients’ representatives

Knowledge, experience and qualifications required

Diploma in Building Technology, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or any other related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction management in the construct industry.

Ability to interpret structural and architectural drawings.
Knowledge in roof works and light gauge steel construction.
Ability to create program of works.
Ability to take site measurements.
