The ideal Construction Foreman will lead and coordinate operations, overseeing workers in civil and building construction projects. You will play a crucial role in ensuring all construction activities align with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards, while maintaining efficiency and safety on-site.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Blueprint Interpretation & Execution: Read and interpret construction drawings and ensure accurate implementation on-site.
Project Setup & Planning: Organize and oversee the setup of buildings and civil engineering structures according to design specifications.
Workforce Coordination: Plan and allocate labour for assigned tasks well in advance, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
Training & Supervision: Ensure that workers are properly trained for assigned tasks and supervise their execution for accuracy and safety.
Productivity & Performance: Monitor daily productivity, ensuring that work is completed efficiently and meets quality standards.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, ensuring a secure working environment for all staff.
Tool & Equipment Management: Oversee the proper use, maintenance, and storage of tools and equipment at the end of each workday.
Site Cleanliness & Environmental Protection: Ensure that worksites are cleared of debris and waste materials daily and that environmental protection measures are upheld.
Labour & Attendance Records: Maintain accurate records of labour entries for each shift and submit them for approval.
Conflict Resolution & Reporting: Address workplace disputes, escalating unresolved issues to supervisors when necessary, and provide regular progress reports to management
Progress Reporting: Provide regular progress reports to line supervisors and project managers, highlighting achievements and challenges.
Skills and qualifications:
Diploma in Building Construction or Civil Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of Proven experience as a Construction Foreman in civil and building projects.
Proficiency in site preparation, layout, and measurements to ensure structures are built to exact specifications.
Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and safety guidelines.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Strong capability in managing workforce schedules, assigning tasks, and ensuring efficient workflow.
Experience in overseeing daily operations, maximizing productivity, and maintaining high-quality standards.
