Responsibilities
Initiate actions covering conference services activities including planning, scheduling and coordination of services of meetings and conferences.
Analyses requests from substantive offices for meetings to be included in the draft calendar of meetings.
Coordinates with substantive offices to ensure that they have the capability and resources to meet the programme as proposed.
Negotiates changes in dates and /or provisions of services as deemed appropriate.
Monitors the efficient utilization of conference resources and advises substantive offices on procedures and possible cost-effective measures.
Confirms the services to be allocated to meetings at and away from UNON.
Schedules additional and urgent meetings and ensures proper servicing of these meetings by evaluating their needs and availability of additional resources required.
Undertakes missions with overall responsibility for the planning of designated conferences away from UNON and serves as the representative of the Division when assigned as Team Leader of the mission.
Advises host government officials on logistics, financial and other requirements and negotiates the terms of the Host Country Agreement. •
Performs other related duties as required.
Education
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in languages, communications, international affairs, public administration, management, social sciences or related field is required.
A first-level university degree in combination with two (2) additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable.
Work Experience
At least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in administration, conference management or related field is required.
Experience in facilitating intergovernmental processes is desirable. Experience in conferencing related tools and technology is desirable.
Two (2) years or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
