The CoLMEAL Specialist is a core project team member, dedicating 100% effort to advancing the Community-Led Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (CoLMEAL) approach. The primary goal of this role is to strengthen the project’s community-led rights protection among AGWs affected by or at risk of GBV, including Child, Early, and
Forced Marriage (CEFM). This will be achieved by increasing the capacity of AGWs and community leaders to drive community-led solutions to GBV, including Child, Early, and Forced Marriage (CEFM), and by building the capacity of community representatives and health system actors to scale up these solutions.
Specific Tasks
CoLMEAL Hub Mobilization, Formation, and Support Mobilize and form the CoLMEAL Hubs, ensuring its members represent relevant project stakeholders and possess the capacity to champion CoLMEAL.
Provide mentorship and continuous support to the CoLMEAL Hubs, equipping them with the skills and resources to effectively train and empower Community Management Committees (CMCs) in scaling up initiatives within communities and health institutions.
Motivate members of the CoLMEAL Hubs through diverse engagement strategies designed to foster collaboration, enthusiasm, and sustained commitment to their roles and responsibilities.
Lead and support activities in community-led assessment and design, support for community-led solutions, community-led advocacy, and roundtable discussions (RTDs), ensuring alignment with and contribution to the project’s outcomes
CoLMEAL Implementation:
The role will spearhead the scale-up of CoLMEAL initiatives in new communities, ensuring project implementation complies with established procedures and enhances community-led rights protection for AGW.
Key responsibilities include:
Contributing to the increased capacity of AGWs and community leader to identify SRH challenges, root causes and develop community led action plans
Contributing to the increased capacity of AGWs and community leaders to implement community-led solutions.
Supporting the capacity-building of community representatives and health system actors to scale up community-led solutions.
Supporting the development of the AGWs and community leaders’ capacity of Community led teams to monitor and evaluate the implementation based on community action plants developed
Training and Mentorship:
Act as the lead trainer for trainers and documenters, providing targeted mentorship and skill-building support to enhance community-led rights protection and achieve the project’s intended outcomes.
Community Engagement:
Foster and maintain strong relationships with community members and stakeholders, implementing activities that actively promote community-led rights protection and align with the project’s overall objectives.
Documentation Support:
Provide guidance to documenters on capturing and analyzing relevant data to measure progress toward strengthening agency in community-led rights protection among AGWs as part of the CoLMEAL scale-up and overall project goals.
Planning and Coordination:
Develop and implement work plans aligned with the objective of strengthening agency in community-led rights protection among AGWs through the CoLMEAL scale-up, while actively identifying opportunities to integrate with other program activities.
Reporting and Learning:
Prepare regular progress reports emphasizing lessons learned and their contribution to achieving the overall project outcomes.
Collaboration:
Actively collaborate with colleagues working on other outcome areas to identify synergies, enhance impact, and ensure overall program coherence and alignment.
Desired Competencies and Minimum Qualifications
Education University degree in Community Development, Statistics, Demographics, Public Health, or a related field is required with additional training in Monitoring and Evaluation is preferred.
Experience At least three (3) years of experience in project implementation, with demonstrated expertise in community- led approaches for rights protection and their contribution to enhancing protection rights against GBV and CEFM.
Extensive experience in facilitating training and mentorship, with a strong focus on community empowerment and GBV prevention/response.
Experience working with communities, focusing on improving their ability to protect and enjoy their rights
