Job Summary
The Community Based Protection (CBP) Worker will promote, support, implement the disaster response interventions, facilitate community engagements and participation.
Duties And Responsibilities
Support, develop, implement and review project activities and budgets continuously monitoring activities against work plans to identify possible areas of improvement, making recommendations and recording lessons learnt.
Prepare and submit periodic (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and annual) reports of activities, evaluations, recommendations and action plans.
Provide outreach services to carry out assessments, identify and facilitate assistance and interagency referrals to vulnerable older persons and youth.
Establish an up-to-date database of persons reached by the projects, indicating services offered and follow up requirements.
Coordinate and monitor distribution of Non-Food Items (NFI) to vulnerable persons and youth including maintaining an accurate record of the activity for reporting and safekeeping.
Coordinate the implement assigned rapid response interventions in crisis and emergency situations, considering all the phases of disaster risk management
Identify and establish networks of relevant stakeholders for advocacy and provision of services to vulnerable PSNs.
Train and provide capacity building to community social service workers while ensuring compliance to LWF standards and values.
Review training material to ensure that the content and mode of delivery addresses training needs.
Qualifications And Experience
Diploma in Community Development.
Bachelor’s degree in Sociology or Community Development (added advantage)
Proven experience of minimum 3 years working experience.
Certification and membership to relevant professional body
An impeccable professional standard of ethics as well as the willingness and ability to implement accountability activities within the LWF World Service essential.
COMPETENCIES
Excellent computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, use of internet and email
Strong analytical, facilitation and documentation experience with humanitarian programmes.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills including influencing negotiation and pragmatism.
Excellent interpersonal skills; the ability to liaise with a variety of people successfully and effectively in a multicultural set up.
Ability to work independently.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
