Communications Officer – Digital

Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of strategically optimizing content to drive engagement, web traffic, and increase brand awareness. Additionally, the following will be expected: 

Develop and implement social media strategies across various digital channels, including social media, email marketing, and website content that is aligned to the organization goals
Plan and execute social media campaigns and promotions to increase awareness of our programming work
Create and maintain a comprehensive social media content calendar
Generate, edit, publish, and share high quality,engaging content (original text, images, videos, and news) across all digital platforms  that aligns with brand voice and tone
Manage social media accounts,including the design of cover images, profile pictures, and blog layouts
Create and manage an engaged online community as part of our advocacy outreach strategy
Monitor and analyze social media performance and provide insights and recommendations for improvement.
Conduct social listening and research on industry trends, competitive landscape, and audience preferences to inform content strategy and ensure up-to-date knowledge of digital technologies and social media trends
Use social media marketing tools and analytics, including SEO, keyword research, and Google Analytics, to optimize content and drive results
Support the execution of the communications strategy and plans 
Work closely with other departments and program teams to design and disseminate content that enhances awareness of their work amongst partners, stakeholders and donors
Stay up-to-date with social media trends, technologies, and design tools and applications

Competencies

Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in web content, social media management and digital communications, preferably in a nonprofit or advocacy setting.
Experience in content management, copywriting, and creative content generation
Knowledge of desktop publishing and video editing software (Adobe InDesign/Illustrator/Photoshop/Premiere)
Strong knowledge of social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter), social media management tools, and social media analytics and reporting
Solid understanding of SEO, keyword research, Google Analytics, and online marketing channels
Familiarity with web design and user experience best practices
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
Strong analytical and multitasking skills, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Self-starter with a positive attitude, and ability to think creatively and outside the box
Passion and a strong knowledge for social media, digital technologies, and online marketing
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 
High level of agility and ability to multitask
