Communications, Events & Catering Coordinator

Job description
Java House is currently sourcing for a self-motivated and dynamic individual to fill the position of communications, events & catering coordinator based in Nairobi.
Role:
To assist the Graphic Designer to develop on-brand marketing collateral and develop touch points for various media; online and offline as required to support the business
Key Responsibility Areas

Communications

Develop and implement communications goals and plans for Java House Group in line with the marketing objectives
Creating materials, posters, and online communications, including creating viral campaigns, videos and infographics as needed for both internal and external publics
Stakeholder engagement through directed campaigns, partnerships and events
Draft media releases, backgrounders, and manage other media communications as needed
Contribute in supporting CSR and Java Foundation efforts as needed
Develop media and marketing strategies for Java Group events, programs, and campaigns
Support website content design and maintenance (Word Press-based)
Writing, editing and distributing email communication, blog posts and newsletters for target audiences in collaboration with the Digital Marketing team
Support the management of Java’s social media presence
Plan and execute internal marketing initiatives in collaboration with HR

Event Planning

Develop and manage the Catering and Events business portfolio
Plan and organize events with support from relevant departments
Establish and maintain relationships with partners, and event organizers as needed
Manage event logistics and budgets
Coordinate volunteers and site personnel together with the relevant teams
Act as a liaison between Marketing, Operations, Commissary and other key Departments, ensuring all client requirements, facility policies, and best practices are adhered to

Planning and Reporting

Gather consumer insights on catering needs and make recommendations for improvement
Maintains accurate and up-to-date information on each event, keeping the Sr. Manager and Operation Managers informed of adjustments and revisions
Provide analysis and reports on events on a regular basis

Other Duties

Participate in and provide input into Java House Group overall marketing planning and budgeting process in cooperation with the Brand and Marketing and other staff
Administrative tasks related to communications and/or event planning
Represent Java House at community events where necessary and engage the public about our workshops and programs
Support the marketing needs as and when required

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities
Academic/Professional Qualifications
Working knowledge of the principles of the food and beverage industry, services and equipment for a similar facility
Functional Skills

Ability to prioritize multiple projects
Demonstrate problem-solving skills

Relevant Experience
2 years of experience in communications and event planning
