College Principal Nurse (Midwife) Hospital Matron

Reports To: Hospital Administrator
Our Lady of Lourdes Mutomo College of Health Sciences is seeking to fill the above position
Reporting to the Our Lady of Lourdes Mutomo Hospital Administrator, the successful candidate’s main responsibilities will be to:

 Effectively manage the day to day running of the College
Spearhead continuous development and improvement of the college curriculum and the learning environment to enhance performance and steer the institution to excellence.
Liaise with the various Hospital Sections and other approved Health Care facilities in arranging clinical placement for students.
Arrange tutorial and teaching blocks in line with the Nursing Council/TVETA standards and ensure the teaching staff meet their objectives.
Efficiently use and manage resources and expenditure within budgetary allocations.
Facilitate a conducive learning environment with high levels of discipline, moral values and excellence.
Provide leadership, guidance and counseling to students, teaching and support staff while fostering and maintaining clear vision for the future of the college
Ensure that the college meets the provision of its’ Strategic Plan

Minimum Qualifications, Technical Skills and work Experience

A Bachelor of Medical Education /Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing/ OR other relevant degree from a recognized university
At least three (3) years of experience as College Principal/Deputy Principal OR 5 years of experience as Head of Department in a healthcare institution of learning
Proven leadership, administrative, communication and decision – making skills
High degree of professionalism, integrity, accountability and moral values.
