Clinical Officer

Role Profile
Provides professional medical services to employees working on the farm. Provide clinical leadership and supervision of the clinic and any health related issues in the company.
Supervisory

Supervises assigned nurse in the conduct of clinical care and delegates authority and responsibility when and where needed.
Reviews performance of assigned nurse to check for quality of care.
Assist in HSE supervision of the company

Clinical

Provides medical evaluation, treatment and consultation services to patients of the clinic.
Responds to emergencies and answers medical questions.
Obtains and documents, chief complaint, past medical, family and social history, review of systems, examination, medications and allergies, assessment and plan for each patient.
Provides medical orders for prescription refills, administration of medications, ancillary testing, and/or referrals.
Reviews ancillary test results and coordinates notification to the patient.
Provides patient education as needed.
Supervises patient care in the clinic
Available to patients personally to answer questions and relay information regarding their care.
Completion of appropriate paperwork to comply with insurance and reimbursement guidelines.
Organizes for statutory medical tests including periodic cholinesterase tests as per HSE policy, legal and Company Doctors recommendations.
Completion of all documentation and paperwork in a timely manner.

Administrative

 Works closely with the HSE Coordinator and HR Manager to
Provide leadership and medical direction for the clinic.
Attends all staff, clinical, or other special meetings as requested.
Performs other appropriate duties as requested by supervisors.
Supports the mission of Syngenta HSE policy
Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
Assist HSE Coordinator in filing and other administration work.

Medical Administrative

Communicates with the clinic’s patients.
Responsible for approving and maintaining treatment protocols
Provides assistance with OSH, emergency preparedness, infection control and regulatory compliance.
Perform any other job as and when assigned

Qualifications
Critical knowledge, Skills & Experience

University Degree in Nursing.
5 year’s progressive experience in managing a dispensary or health centre.
Sound knowledge on general administration.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Person who is sensitive to employees’ feelings and able to keep matters confidential.
Ability to exhibit patience and tolerance.
Experience working in a production environment, able to think and act practically. Must be able to engage Production Managers and find work for rehabilitating patients.
Be the conduit between the treating doctor and/or specialists and the company and patient.
Understand legal documents concerning WIBA, following up of cases and coordinating with Human Resources.
Professional qualification in clinic set up
Computer literacy is  a must.
Maintains appropriate licensure and certification including meeting and/or exceeding the law requirements.
Observes standards of medical care
Efficient, organized and accurate.
