Chief Radiographer

Main Duties:

Developing and translating radiology and imaging policies and procedures into daily operations.
Developing, monitoring and maintaining inventories of radiology and imaging resources and stocks.
Participating in the education and training of radiology paramedics and other staff through CME programs.
Maintaining an accurate radiology registers and forwarding the same information to the statistics office.
Developing and managing the section’s budget for subsequent approvals.
Ensuring conformity to the quality systems requirements and continuous quality improvement activities.
Ensuring that costing and charging of all procedures have been done correctly.
Analyzing monthly film consumption to monitor and reduce wastage to keep with budgetary plans.
Performing radiological examinations as prescribed by medical practitioners
Ensuring that radiation protection devices are available and ensuring the safety of radiology and imaging environment.
Coordinating the maintenance of equipment and accessories.
Co-ordinating with the Radiation Protection Board to ensure that annual inspection of the facility and x-ray emitting machines is done and ensuring that legal obligations for radiation protection are observed.
In liaison with the HR section, managing staff welfare, training and development.
Participating in quality improvement initiatives within the department and providing reports as required.
Any other duty assigned.

Required Qualifications for the Position

BSc in Radiography
Higher Diploma in radiography/MIS, Ultrasound, MRI or other relevant area
Licensed radiographer by RPB
Registered member of SORK
Minimum 5 years in relevant field of which 3 should be in hospital-based radiology and imaging
2 years managerial experience
