Job Purpose:
As the Head of Human Resources, your primary responsibility is to develop and execute the Human Resource strategy of the Bank, aligning it with the overall business plan and strategic direction. This entails focusing on organization design, recruitment, talent development, succession planning, performance management, and compensation management. Your leadership will ensure the institution of best HR practices, fostering optimal utilization of the Bank’s human capital.
This role requires a seasoned HR professional with a strategic mindset, strong leadership capabilities, and a track record of driving organizational change and talent development within the banking industry. The CHRO will serve as a key advisor to the CEO and liaise closely with the Board of Directors to ensure HR strategies are aligned with the bank’s overall vision and objectives. They will play a crucial role in shaping the organizational culture, attracting and retaining top talent, and driving performance excellence across the institution.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Management:
Formulate HR policies, plans, and objectives in alignment with business goals.
Develop comprehensive strategic recruitment and retention plans, addressing critical talent, succession, career management, and reward & recognition.
Leadership and Culture Development:
Provide functional direction, coordination, and advice to foster cultural change.
Oversee the development of competency models and infrastructure for employee training and development.
Talent Management:
Guide the organization in matters of organization structure, staffing, compensation, and talent management.
Direct recruitment processes, including proactive sourcing and relationship building with high-quality candidates.
Budgeting and Performance Management:
Prepare and control HR budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
Evaluate HR team performance and support line managers in performance management across the organization.
Compliance and Best Practices:
Stay updated on HR best practices, ensuring the Bank remains competitive.
Ensure compliance with employment laws and maintain proper documentation.
Strategic Alignment:
Partner with the Executive team to align systems with business needs and participate in strategy formulation and execution.
Knowledge and Experience:
Academic: University Degree, MBA.
Professional: Postgraduate HR degree, HR certification (CHRP), IHRM membership.
Experience: Over 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in senior management roles.
