Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Production Supervisor

Job Description

Our Client is an international social enterprise focused on improving outcomes across the developing world by providing access to affordable technology and the physical and technical infrastructure for young people to become successful entrepreneurs. They are looking to hire a seasoned Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee and manage the financial operations of their entities in Kenya, South Africa, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The CFO will ensure financial integrity, develop and implement financial strategies, and lead a finance team across multiple jurisdictions. The organization has multiple business units aimed at bridging the digital gap and improving access to technology while boosting business productivity. This role is instrumental in driving sustainable growth, ensuring compliance, and maintaining donor and stakeholder confidence.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

Oversee financial operations across all their entities.
Supervise the preparation, input, and verification of financial data into accounting systems.
Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Develop annual budgets and projections for all entities and manage expenditure against budget.
Manage annual audits, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.
Supervise a finance team of three (two Kenyan staff, one DRC staff) and coordinate with an external accounting firm in South Africa.
Manage financial operations, including payments management and overseeing the reconciliation processes for all entities.

Grant Management and Reporting

Develop and manage budgets for grants from partner organizations.
Prepare detailed financial and KPI reports, ensuring alignment with funder requirements.
Conduct financial reconciliations and manage project audits to certify eligible costs.

Special Projects Management Support

Develop and implement financial plans for the organization’s internal projects.
Collaborate with project managers to align financial processes with program goals.

Strategic Financial Leadership

Build financial models and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
Monitor and assess risks, ensuring robust internal controls.

Requirements

Key Qualifications and Skills

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics.
At least 7-10 years of financial leadership experience, preferably in international, multi-entity organizations.
Proven track record in grant management and donor reporting.
Experience with financial reporting tools (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) and familiarity with international audit processes.

Skills and Competencies

Strong knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and forecasting.
Proficiency in regulatory and compliance requirements across multiple countries.
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor diverse teams.
Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
