Job purpose:
Reporting to the Team Leader, Safety & Security, you will operate and monitor all systems, including CCTV, within the Control Centre in a professional and efficient manner. You will also ensure integrity, accuracy and confidentiality of all information gained by compliance with quality standards and legislation, whilst preserving the rights of the individual. Additionally, you will be responsible and ensure the safety and security of people and property within public areas and other Facilities via surveillance of the CCTV network.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure smooth/ uninterrupted operations of CCTV and other electronic surveillance/alarm systems in the institution.
Operate and monitor CCTV System and allied surveillance alarm devices installed.
Train new staff on the operation and manning of Electronic Surveillance/Alarm Equipment
Ensure safe custody and serviceability of the CCTV and allied electronic equipment.
Operate the Radio Communication Base Station, attend to telephone calls.
Maintain network video recordings of the monitoring station.
Prepare and subsequently monitor the electronic security sections duty roster.
Work in coordination with other CCTV Operators in the department.
Supplementing supervision of guards via the CCTV Surveillance system.
Appropriate activations and calling-off of emergencies.
Dispatch and monitoring of E.R.T responses to emergencies.
Public Address System announcements.
Perform any other task assigned by Team Leader, Safety& Security.
Qualifications and Skills required.
Certificate in CCTV Operation from a reputable institution
Diploma in a Safety and Security related field is an added advantage.
KSCE minimum grade of D+ / O level certificate
Minimum of 3 years working experience in a similar role
Knowledgeable of the overall operation of the CCTV system.
To have a full understanding of the legal and human rights legislations regulating the use of CCTV and its impact in security operations.
Ability to write good CCTV analysis reports and to give CCTV evidence in a legal forum.
Experience in the use of computer-based technology to provide reports.
Ability to use and communicate with the VHF radio system.
Proven ability to deal tactfully and effectively with people at all levels within the organization, external agencies, contractors, and members of the public.
Must have a valid certificate of good conduct.
