Casual Pastry Chef-Cysuites Apartment Hotel

The Pastry Chef should have the culinary expertise and experience to make a wide variety of desserts and baked goods. They must understand and appreciate the subtleties of flavour pairings and different tastes, and have a good aesthetic sense for food and pastry presentation. They must adhere to Health and Safety standards to provide clients with the best possible serving. They must be creative with their dessert creations and continually research and test new and different dessert and baking recipes to ensure that guests have an exceptional dining experience. In addition to this, they should demonstrate the ability to work efficiently in a team on various assignments and should manage to work both in the hot kitchen and the pastry section when required to.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare any and all desserts required in the Restaurant.
Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following laid down recipes.
Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders within budget.
Ensure OS&Es are in good working order.
Maintain a clean and orderly cooking station and adhere to Health and Safety Standards.
Schedules production of all baked goods to maintain an inventory of fresh baked goods at all times.
Any other duties as shall be assigned from time to time

REQUIREMENTS

Diploma/Certificate in Food Production or related field.
Minimum experience: 2+ years in a Hospitality set-up, preferably 4-star establishments.
Valid Food Handlers Certificate.
HACCP Compliant.
Excellent record in kitchen operations and procedures.
Covid-19 vaccination certificate.
