Scope of work
Goal and objective: Under the supervision of the Innovation Manager the consultant will provide advisory services to develop a scalable business plan for ADDA and a DPG incubator.
Provide details/reference to AWP areas covered: Technical expertise will be provided to allow Green Yoma and ADDA scale its operation to reach more young people to train relevant 21st century skill.
Activities And Tasks
Work with the innovation scaling consultant and the broader Green Yoma team to facilitate a human-centered process for developing a scalable business model for ADDA and a DPG incubator based on the learnings from Niger and other campuses.
Provide substantive input to the development and drafting of a scalable business model.
Provide substantive input validate the key findings of the implementation and draft business plan including the UNICEF ADDA / Green Yoma ecosystem of partners.
Desired Competencies, Technical Background, And Experience
Education: Master’s degree in management, Environmental management, Development, International Studies or similar.
Experience with scaling innovation towards the SDGs. Experience working in the African context and with diverse stakeholders. Including an understanding of different business model options in the Third Sector.
Ideally, experience working on multi-stakeholder projects — especially with the academic and private sectors.
A minimum of 8 years of experience in the development sector and/ or innovation. Proven experience working with international organizations in the UN system.
An understanding UAS in the African/development context.

Administrative Issues
Some travel may be required on the African continent and for partner meetings elsewhere as needed.
All travel (in case of any) will be by most economical fare and reimbursement will be as per UNICEF policy.
The consultant is expected to be home (or Nairobi) based with potential travel depending on COVID- 19 travel restrictions for which the UNICEF office would cover subsistence allowances and travel costs. If the consultant is required to quarantine while traveling, UNICEF will pay for the quarantine if not organized by the host country.
Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid- 19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract.
