Key Role of Business Software Intern
The Business Software Intern will be charged with developing knowledge on the organization’s software offerings with the main role of implementing and training clients on the softwares offered. This knowledge will also be used to understand and analyze client operations in order to give them advice on how they can manage their operations in a more efficient manner.
Timecon Kenya Limited is seeking to provide a 3 months unpaid Internship opportunity to candidates who have a background in accounting (relevant CPA qualification) and a business-related field; the position entails closely working with businesses and their stakeholders to identify and solve operational based problems. The ability and drive to work efficiently both in teams and individually is key.
NB: On successful completion of the internship program, the candidate may be considered for employment.
Other Roles
The Business Software Intern shall report to the senior consultants and will be charged with the following roles:

Product Knowledge

Gain and maintain adequate knowledge on the operation of all software products that the organization deals in including any other software products that the organization may deem fit to uptake.

Training

Continually improve on their knowledge of the software offerings through gaining and disseminating relevant information by carrying out of the following activities:

Continually gain and maintain excellent Software Product Knowledge
Keeping up to date with new and upcoming features on the Software Products
Attending monthly technical training
Achieving 8 hours E-Learning every month

Communication and Reporting

Ensure that there is good communication and reporting of client needs. This will entail:

Communicating accurately with clients through emails and phone calls
Effective communication in understanding the client needs as well as documenting them
Properly documenting client issues and logging them on Zendesk
Maintaining a continuous flow of communication with the consultants regarding client issues

Technical Duties

Functional output of the gained practical knowledge to the benefit of the clients. This will entail:

Implementing Software Products at allocated Client sites
Training clients on the efficient operation of the selected Software Product
Remote assistance of Clients via available remote application
Proper maintenance of assigned staff tools and ensuring they are preloaded with up-to-date information

Appraisal

Ensure that the employee appraisal program runs efficiently through fulfilling of the following functions:

Maintaining and filing of up-to-date Weekly Timesheets
Attending of monthly reviews
Attending of all team appraisal programs

Skills & Competences:

Bachelor’s Degree in a Business course.
At least CPA 2.
Strong leadership and decision-making ability.
Excellent organization & ability to coordinate.
Analytical, self-driven and shows initiative.
Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
