Job Purpose
The Business Process Re-engineering Specialist is responsible for leading continuous improvement, across the Group, through the application of process improvement and re-engineering methodologies and principles to conduct process modernization and manage automation projects.
The responsibilities will include the development of modern business methods, identifying best practices, creating, and assessing process performance measurements, and striving for continuous improvement.
The role is responsible for effective transitioning of the changes through project activities and objectives.
The role identifies process improvement opportunities, applies lean principles to redesign the target business processes, develops, and manages the processes for measuring the efficiency and effectiveness of services provided through the digital and physical channels.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s Degree
(Master’s Degree in Information Systems or related field will be an added advantage)
Minimum Experience
5- 10 years’ experience in Process Re-engineering and Automation
Critical Competencies
Detailed understanding of the BPM mapping and automation
Detailed experience in the banking industry with emphasis on
Digital Banking (CASA, Credit, Trade Finance, Operations)
Detailed and proven experience in Agile development
environment with specific familiarity with SCRUM

8 to 10 years’ progressive experience in business improvement and performance measurement projects
Demonstrated track record of re-engineering business processes and driving adoption across an organization/department
Clear understanding of business process streamlining methodologies
Accredited in Lean, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodology
Has managed functional processes and policies and/or projects in a financial institution
Experience of implementing continuous improvement processes Drafting process ideas to reduce costs and improve production rates
Ensuring processes comply with regulatory, safety and quality standards
Developing standardized operating instructions for the changed processes

Manage Changes
Ensure a healthy working relationship between team and all other departments in terms of system functionality and business processes in the bank. Front and back-end and all processes in between need to be considered.
Ensure the processes and systems used adhere to Industry standards and compliance rules
Provide constant feedback on status of changes to be implemented
Ensure all changes are implemented on time and the operational impact has been assessed and properly catered for4. Project Management
Ability to coordinate delivery of work activities
Prepare programme schedules, design execution life cycles, identify and manage associated risks
Design the standards of quality assurance, review the test results and measure solution fit
Ensure all changes are signed off as per the timelines agreed with IT
Manage changes to be deployed and ensure that the relevant access has been allocated to the team to perform tests on the day of the deploy

Conduct systems, processes, policies and procedures analysis and identify failure root causes and make necessary recommendations
Conduct risk analysis and make necessary recommendations

Review existing systems, policies and procedures against legislative requirements and propose solutions

Prioritization and Escalation
Ensure that changes are communicated and prioritized within the business as well as the team
Attend prioritization meetings with IT and the business
