Business Development Manager

Key experience
 
From 5 to 15+ years of experience in a business development role
Qualifications Financial, legal, technical or engineering background
Ideally an MBA qualification
Strong background in developing greenfield infrastructure projects from scratch
Experience in negotiating MoU’s and joint development and shareholders agreements
Exposure to the technical side of infrastructure project developers including negotiations of project finance contracts and revenue agreements
Reached financial close on a successful infrastructure project
Experience working in emerging markets
Renewable energy expertise is a plus
Experience working with international developers in Africa advantageous
Ability to identify, value and prioritize opportunities
Key responsibilities
 
Identifying, evaluating and ranking new co-development opportunities
Maintaining a database of opportunities, updating it and chasing partners when required
Contributing in preparing and presenting proposals to the Company’s Board
Helping in taking co-development projects from concept to financial close by structuring and securing all the necessary commercial terms including, partnership agreements, finance agreements, PPAs and other revenue agreements, fuel supply agreements, etc.
Participating in negotiations and assisting the negotiation of project construction, operation and maintenance agreements
Building a strong working relationship with all key stakeholders and ensuring they are engaged, supporting and satisfied with the co-development project
Providing project status reports
Identifying, managing and mitigating co-development projects risks.
