Business Development Manager

Job description
As a Business Development Manager, you will work closely with all teams in driving new business opportunities in the region. You open doors with potential partners, lead exploratory talks with them and then shrewdly analyze and present our options. You have strong relationship-building skills, proven experience in negotiating and closing strategic partnerships, the ability to clarify and summarize complex issues and strong attention to detail. You are able to leverage your relationships to build a strong, actionable perspective on the markets you evolve in, supplemented by market intelligence and competitive analysis. You also possess superior analytical skills regarding contractual, technical and financial issues with partners and projects and the ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of management.
Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver the strategy for new business development, marketing and communication, appropriate to need and responsive to opportunity, in close collaboration with senior management.
Determine customers’ needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information.
Develop insightful recommendations on strategic direction and identify/evaluate specific project opportunities that can help bring and grow access in the region
Lead analysis efforts by developing work plans, gathering and interpreting relevant data, and developing final recommendations
Shape and implement other priority projects that could involve product launches, PR or marketing activities, which ultimately grow the business, in sales and revenue
Create project support and analysis, presentations, reporting, industry research
Research, build and maintain strong direct relationships with key partners.
Assesses market competition by comparing the company’s product to competitors’ products.

Qualifications:

BA/BS degree preferred with a strong academic record
Masters degree with a focus on Strategic Business Planning or related business disciplines; or an MBA, will be an added advantage
At least 4+ years previous work experience including 1+ year of related experience in a technology environment
Current on wireless/ wireline telecommunications technology and industry/ public policy,
In-depth experience operating within cross-functional teams (strategy, sales, finance, marketing, engineering)
Experience identifying partners, analyzing and structuring complex deal structures with a proven track record of deal negotiation and execution
Ability to perform research on and assist with execution on several time-sensitive project/deals at once in a fast paced environment with minimal direction.
Basic technical understanding of fiber construction an asset
