Job Purpose
Sedgwick is a leading registered Insurance Broker, Risk Consultancy, Employee Benefits Administrator, and Medical Provider with a rich local and international experience and seeks to recruit Business Development Executive whose responsibility will be to generate new business, develop strong and stable relationships, attend to quotations and negotiate with underwriters and clients to ensure business production, growth, and renewals.
Purpose of The Job
The jobholder is primarily responsible for identifying potential leads, participate in the tendering process, and attending to requests for proposals. The position will also entail developing strong and stable relationships, attend to quotations and negotiate with underwriters and clients to ensure business production, growth, and renewals to achieve set budgets which are aligned to the company’s strategic plan.
Duties and Responsibilities
Conducting market research and prospecting for new clients for the company
Participate in the tendering process and making necessary follow-ups to ensure the acquisition of business
Planning and overseeing pursuit of marketing initiatives for new business and growth
Increasing the value of current customers while attracting new ones
Finding and developing new markets and improving sales
Organizing and Attending Client conferences, meetings, and industry events
Developing quotes/ proposals and presenting them to prospective clients
Develop an annual calendar of marketing activities
Identify, target, and penetrate niche markets and create awareness of Insurance products within the niche market
Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
A Bachelor Degree in Business or related discipline from a reputable university
Professional qualifications in In Insurance and /or Marketing
At least five (5) years’ experience in Insurance sales and marketing
Appreciable understanding of the insurance market, the prevailing business environment, and products by the competition.
