Business Advisory Expert

Responsibilities

Conduct needs assessments among enterprises and suggest priority areas for business advisory. 
Tailor our business support curriculum and approach to the context and needs of entrepreneurs in different geographies. 
Deliver online and offline group-based training sessions and facilitate discussions between participants. 
Deliver practical coaching to individual companies by presenting inspirational case studies and evidence-based approaches tried elsewhere.
Connect companies with relevant external stakeholders and identify new partnerships with private and public sector organizations to amplify the companies’ impact.
Report to Project Manager on business advisory activities delivered and evaluate their results. 
Capture and document insights and lessons-learned as input for our public learning publications.

Qualifications

Bachelor or Master’s degree or equivalent in business administration, innovation management, economics or other relevant fields.
At least 7 years relevant and first-hand experience with business advisory support for startups and SMEs in the agricultural and/or renewable energy sector.
Passionate about driving positive impact for low-income producers and consumers, through inclusive innovation and entrepreneurship. 
Advanced knowledge and experience with one or more of these business support areas: Product Development, Marketing/sales & Distribution, and Business Model Innovation. 
Demonstrated track record (indirectly) contributing to the growth of startups and SMEs through business advisory support.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Experience with developing and delivering visually appealing presentations, and moderating events with 20+ people. 
Ability and willingness to occasionally travel to Uganda and other African countries.
