Biomedical Engineer

Job Requirements

Diploma in Biomedical Engineering from a recognized institution
At least 3 years working experince in a busy hospital
Team player. Attention to detail
Careful measurements and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

Install new biomedical equipment by establishing, adjusting, calibrating, and testing performance.
Repair and service hospital machinery and equipment and when necessary plan and advice on external servicing.
Maintain biomedical equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules, conducting tests following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions, calling for special service; evaluating service contracts, maintaining equipment inventories.
Directs biomedical equipment operation by providing equipment operation demonstrations and instructing other healthcare staff in use and care of equipment; answering questions, providing information.
Evaluates proposed biomedical equipment by conducting tests and evaluations.
Prepares biomedical reports and presents it to the management
Maintains safe and healthy working environment by conducting safety tests, recommending and complying with procedures; training and guiding medical and healthcare personnel.
Install and maintain wiring and lighting system
Inspect electrical components to ensure they are in proper condition
Identify electrical problems and act promptly
Repair or replace wiring, equipment or fixtures
Installing or maintaining heating systems
Install other plumbing equipment, such as sinks, tubs, toilets, water heaters, air conditioners, appliances, and trim.
Repairing sanitation systems.
Emergency repairs.
Test pipe systems and fix leaks.
Perform scheduled maintenance.
Fitting appliances such as water dispensers
Any other duty as may be assigned
