The position
The Audio Visual & Residential IT support Assistant will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining AV equipment, and supporting residential IT needs, particularly internet access, during evenings and weekends.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY:
Set up, operate, and maintain audio equipment for school events, including meetings, performances, and presentations.
Collaborate with IT teams to integrate audio systems with existing technology infrastructure.
Work closely with academic teams to understand and meet specific audio requirements for educational activities.
Attend event planning meetings to assess audio needs and provide recommendations based on event type and audience size.
Conduct pre-event sound checks to ensure all equipment is functioning properly and meets the needs of presenters and performers.
Offer technical support during events to assist users in navigating audio systems.
Coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.
Assist students and staff with internet access issues during weekday evenings and weekends.
The requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, or a related field.
Strong technical skills with a solid understanding of sound design principles.
Experience dealing with various audio equipment.
Effective communication skills.
