Associate Electrical Engineer

What you’ll be doing
Key Responsibilities:

Learns the skills to design, install, and maintain the electrical systems that power and support the GDC data center operations.
Receives detailed instructions to provide creative solutions to complex electrical problems that arise in design and operation of mission critical systems.
Under supervision, supports continuous improvement to come up with better ways to accomplish design intent, meet competitive landscape, and reduce cost, research new products, systems, and materials.
Takes direction to develop standard electrical equipment and specifications. Also assist with developing redundancy schemes that meet company strategic goals.
Under supervision, collaborate with the Construction team to ensure design deliverables meet project schedules.
Under supervision, supports the commissioning activities of new data center phases.
Supports internal Service Delivery team in reviewing client fit out requirements and systems designs.
Performs any other related task as required.

Knowledge and Attributes:

Some knowledge of electrical system design and power distribution in data centers and base station.
Some knowledge of Generator operations, and LV systems
Some knowledge of solar Installations and Operations
Some knowledge of Dc power systems and power backup designs
Some knowledge of Life Safety, IBC and OSH codes and standards.
Some understanding of critical Data Centre electrical and mechanical equipment.
Some proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit, electrical engineering software and Bluebeam PDF editing software.
Detail oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment both virtual and in person.
Displays problem-solving skills coupled with good organizational and time management skills.
Able to set priorities and meet deadlines.
Willingness to work flexible hours and travel to different job sites as needed.
A valid driver’s license is a plus.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree, Diploma or equivalent in electrical engineering or related field.
Other Professional certifications or licenses is an added advantage

Required Experience:

Entry level experience with power distribution systems.
Proven experience working as an electrician with AC and DC systems expertise.
Strong knowledge of electrical theory, practices, and safety standards.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, diagrams, and blueprints for AC and DC systems.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for both AC and DC electrical issues.
