Key Duties and Responsibilities
Legal Analysis and Advising:
Analyze legal issues and draw succinct conclusions with minimal supervision.
Interpret laws and regulations for individuals and corporate clients, providing timely legal opinions on property, real estate, and commercial transactions.
Document Drafting and Review:
Draft and review transaction and corporate documents in well-written English.
Negotiate, draft, and review commercial contracts on behalf of clients.
Produce clear and precise legal documents, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
Research and draft pleadings and court documents.
Transaction Management:
Oversee the administration of transaction documents, including version control, conditions precedent, execution, and compilation of executed agreements.
Manage due diligence processes, conducting research in relevant registries to support transaction integrity.
Coordinate with key stakeholders such as mortgage lenders, estate agents, valuers, and surveyors to facilitate smooth transaction execution.
Entity Formation and Compliance:
Effect the legal formation of entities and oversee ongoing compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Ensure timely registration of documents with relevant authorities and follow up client matters at registries and government/county offices.
Client Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain strong, lasting relationships with clients by providing exceptional service tailored to their needs.
Manage the delivery of client work professionally, adhering to agreed timelines and quality standards.
Actively build on client experiences to support and enhance their legal needs.
Communication and Reporting:
Present oral and written communication in clear, plain English, ensuring clients fully understand complex legal concepts.
Prepare comprehensive reports, legal opinions, and updates on ongoing matters for clients and internal stakeholders.
Required Specifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) .
Advocate of the high court with a valid practicing certificate
1-4yrs experience post admission with expertise in property, real estate, and commercial law
Prior experience handling transactions involving registries, mortgage lenders, and other relevant stakeholders.
Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to draft and review legal documents with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication skills in English and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with corporate governance, entity formation, and compliance processes.
