Key responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, the Assistant Financial Accountant will be responsible for the successful delivery of the tasks outlined below:
Financial reporting for the Company & Unit Trust Funds including preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts in the prescribed manner.
Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.
Managing the Accounts Payable to ensure accurate balances and settlement of the suppliers’ payments in line with the company policy.
Managing the Accounts Receivable to ensure accurate and timely billing along with debtor collections.
Ensure that all statutory requirements of the Company & Unit trust are met including Tax/regulatory payments and returns.
Continuously identify areas of policy and operational improvement in finance operations.
Coordinate internal and external audits for the company.
Technical/ Functional competencies:
Ability to work cross-functionally and engage stakeholders in order to meet set goals.
Experience in Unit Trust Fund accounting experience is an added advantage
Demonstrable experience with an ERP.
A team player who is detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.
Highly organized, cultivates networks and with an ability to work in fast paced environments.
Minimum Qualifications
University degree in Accounting or Business-related Field
Professional Qualification in Accounting (CPA, ACCA)
At least 2 years’ experience in a similar accounting and finance environment.
