Duties and Responsibilities
Overseeing development and review of public communication and media relationsm strategies
Coordinating the preparation and placement of radio and television infomercials;
Coordinating outreach programs to open up the Assembly to the public;
Organize meeting between media owners, editors, journalists and members to ensure constant synergy;
Sensitize members on handling media related issues;
overseeing corporate communications;
Coordinating the management of County Assembly events;
Assisting in overseeing the designing, innovating and recommending corporate materials for building the Assembly’s brand;
Coordinating the updating of the County Assembly’s website content;
Maintaining of all public communications and media relations records;
Assisting in preparation of departmental budget p r o p o s a l s and p r o c urem e nt plans;
Requirements for appointment
Relevant work experience of not less than five (5), three (3) of which must have been in middle management.
Have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Information Science or any other equivalent qualification.
An understanding of parliamentary process and a sensitivity to the public Communication and media relations needs of the County Assembly; and
Demonstration of managerial, administrative, integrity as prescribed in Chapter Six of the Constitution.
Demonstrate professional competence in work performance and results and exhibited a thorough understanding of national goals, policies and objectives;
Proficiency in computer application.
