Assistant Cost Accountant Design Engineer

About the role
Burn is looking for an Assistant Cost Accountant who will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing various aspects of costs within the company.
The individual will support the overall cost accounting function by actively participating in various tasks related to cost monitoring, analysis, and reporting, contributing to the financial health and efficiency of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities

Monitoring unit cost variance.
Implementing cost standards for materials and labour.
Preparation of COGM, COGS and production cost reports.
Reconciling beginning raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods inventory.
Preparation of inventory movement & valuation analysis.
Oversee and analyze manufacturing BOMs and variances.
Analyze and recommend cost and cost-saving strategies.
Validate revenue and cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close.
Prepare monthly operations variance analysis reports, for all relevant fixed and variable cost line items.
Review costs for all external inventory, labour, and material purchases.
Prepare & analyse project-related cost Analysis.
Prepare & review Landed cost analysis and all costs related to both inbound & outbound shipments.

Skills and Experience

A bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting; or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized, ability to think creatively, and self-motivated.
3+ years’ experience as a Cost analyst or Management Accountant, preferably in the manufacturing sector.
Experience with the ERP system (Microsoft Navision) will be an added advantage.
Strong analytical skills & familiarity with business and financial principles.
Excellent communication and outstanding organizational skills
Experience in data, operational and financial analysis
