Overall Purpose of the Job
Ensure that all maintenance, machine, welding and fabrication requirements are met.
Specific Duties
Repair all replacement parts as and when required.
Maintain all machine/fabrication shop tools and equipment.
Fabrication of all types of insect rearing cages, all metal and Perspex fabrications.
Assist in making recommendations when designing insect rearing cages.
Gas and arc welding responsibilities.
All types of machine/shop brazing.
Repair of all insect rearing cages.
Any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements/Qualifications
Artisan Certificate.
Government trade test.
Ability to organize one’s work to respect deadlines.
Ability to work independently.
Demonstrated attention to detail.
Dynamic and enjoys challenges.
Demonstrated capacity to question one’s work and seek continual improvement in the services, systems or knowledge.
Minimum of 2 years experience in a busy production entity, both private and public.
Understanding of engineering drawing and principles
