Job Role Description
Support the Organization realize its strategic intent on growth in quality customer numbers within the Area and depots assigned whilst optimizing on efficiency in Route to market, through cost and profit optimization.
Functions/Key responsibilities
Effectively and efficiently manage and the depots assigned to them.
Ensure the depots meet the business expectations by achieving its goals, targets and objectives.
Drive quality customer acquisition and maintenance of existing customers to promote business viability and continuity.
Oversee the depot operations to ensure optimization and efficiency.
Contribute to the company profitability and efficiency by monitoring and managing various cost elements including assets utilization and employee optimization, monitoring of losses, etc.
Ensure compliance of the depots to the company’s policies, legal procedures and requirements and operational guidelines
Reviewing daily and monthly stock reports and create accountability at the depot level to ensure the business doesn’t register losses.
Ensuring depot profitability by monitoring the depot expenses and holding the managers accountable to the profits and losses of the depots.
Ensuring all costs being incurred at the depot level are within the company approved budget.
Analyse, prepare and present reports to senior executives wrt performance of the depots including initiatives to improve the performance on areas of concern.
Responsible for profit and loss of their respective area hence the decisions on what needs to be focused on to create value.
Take lead to evaluate performance of the employees being managed in the depots using key metrics and provide guidance on how to improve.
Mentor and couch the depot managers and the team they manage to ensure high degree of employee motivation and behaviour.
Providing guidance and offer support to the team on the key metrics to focus on in order to achieve company targets.
Carry out market intelligence and analysis on competitor activities, any industry and market developments, assessing opportunities for business development, and advising management on market trends.
Liaise and coordinate with other support functions to ensure the depots have the resources they require to be able to operate efficiently.
Engage various stakeholders in developing and improving the business systems and procedures necessary in ensuring quality service delivery to Customers.
Support business through expansion by proposing new markets for growth and evaluating the proposed areas for growth by business development and implementing strategies of quality customer acquisition in those areas.
Guidance to ensuring all operations being carried out at the depot and in the market are done in a safe manner and adherence to all safety measures and in reference to the company safety mantra.
Deal with arising situations and challenges by providing creative and practical solutions to ensure operations continuity.
Execute any other duties as may be assigned by Management from time to time.
Previous Relevant Work Experience Required.
Professional experience with large organization as a Strategic Business Unit.
Should have experience in collaborating with a range of group functions, including sales, marketing, brand management Financial Management, supply chain and technology.
Experience in motivating, energizing and driving results of large sales teams.
