Job Purpose:
The Application Engineer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and support of banking applications.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver across the entire application life cycle (concept, design, build, deploy, test, release, and support)
Provide technical and functional support to teams within the organisation, and to external clients when required
Assist with systems integrations
Maintain and update technical documents and procedures
Develop reports for teams across the business
Gather requirements around functionality and translate those requirements into elegant functional solutions
Monitor and optimize application performance
Explain technologies and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ensure application projects are built and documented in accordance with regulations and regulatory guidelines, including information security,
privacy and other internal policies
Recommend and challenge choices around the best application approaches to meet business needs
Assist in application solution evaluation
Assist in issue/defects resolution for related applications/systems
Perform any other related duties as may be required

Capabilities & Skills:

Expert in the Banking technology ecosystem, including development frameworks, and tools
Specialist knowledge of banking applications and software (functional, technical, architecture, DB) in any of the following areas:

Finacle Core Banking Solution
SWIFT
AML Solutions
Document Management Systems
Oracle HRMS
Middleware Solution
Any other Enterprise Systems

Excellent practical programming skills (Java, PL/SQL, SQL, .Net)
Understanding of the underlying technology platforms (preferably UNIX, Windows, and Oracle)
Sound techno-functional understanding of ALM, AML and Risk Management
Knowledge of relevant and recent technology areas in the BFSI space
Awareness/Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks as applicable to the BFSI sector
Knowledge of business continuity/disaster recovery planning processes and procedures

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

University degree in Computer Science or related field
Certification in Cloud, ITIL, and DevOps is an advantage
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in IT in the BFSI domain
Experience in IT Application Security is an advantage
Fluent in English and French (both verbal and written)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent Analytical and Problem-Solving skills
Dedicated team player
Strongly motivated and available to work outside normal hours
Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills
