KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Thought Leadership, Knowledge Management and Strategy Development
Contribute towards the Investment Strategy by undertaking research, knowledge management, and related initiatives aimed at maintaining credible and robust flow and availability of data and information:
Results Measurement and Tracking
Ensure monitoring and evaluation of projects and initiatives is robust and relevant e.g., through timely data collection and active maintenance of a results tracker:
Investment Analysis
Ensure timely investment analysis, including providing support to the associates with financial modelling and valuation; producing monthly/quarterly investment reports to support the investment decision making as well as conducting macroeconomic, regulatory, and operational assessments
Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with Investment Manager as well as associates and external stakeholders in ensuring efficient use of staff and financial resources:
Carry out any other duties or special assignments as assigned by the Management.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

Qualifications and Education

A good quality Bachelors degree from a recognised university or equivalent
Some practical work experience a plus
First class skills in written and spoken English, in report writing and presentation production
Creative thinker with a passion for economic and social development through private sector investment.

Essential Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

Understanding of private capital investment process
At least 2 years’ work experience which includes some exposure to financial modelling, valuation and investment analysis
An understanding of market analysis for investment purposes
Good communication skills and in particular power point presentations
Enthusiastic, creative, ambitious, and willing to go the extra mile
Knowledge of economic and social development challenges in Africa
