Analyst Investment Management

Key Responsibilities:

Support the development of diversified country and regional portfolios in sub-Saharan Africa
Participate in origination, structuring and negotiation of debt investments in financial institutions in sub-Saharan Africa and corporate entities for the benefit of corporates, Micro and SMEs finance or other development finance goals.
Conduct in-depth analysis of financial statements, market conditions, and industry trends to identify potential investment opportunities.
Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate the performance and potential of investments.
Prepare detailed investment research reports and present findings to senior staff and clients.
Monitor and assess the performance of existing investments and provide recommendations for adjustments as necessary.
Stay up-to-date with global economic trends, regulatory changes, and market developments
Assist in the development and implementation of investment strategies and portfolio management techniques.
Collaborate with other team members and portfolio managers to support the overall investment decision-making process.
Participate in meetings with company management, industry experts, and other stakeholders to gather relevant information.
Conduct on- and off-site due diligence and monitoring of financial institutions (banks and non-bank financial institutions such as microfinance institutions, leasing companies, factoring companies etc.), corporates and portfolios
Monitor and analyse key market and economic developments in countries of operation and financial sectors.
Advance responsible finance in countries of operations through respective dialogue, investment structuring, workshops and initiatives.

What we expect:

Previous experience of 2-4 years in banking/financial sector, ideally with expertise in lending to financial institutions and portfolio management
Understanding of financial statements analysis, including key ratios and applicable accounting standards.
Strong analytical and financial skills with a good understanding of applicable accounting standards.
Excellent understanding of banking, both business and risk perspective
Fluency in spoken and written English. French could be a plus
Interest and general knowledge of development finance and impact investment, including micro / SME finance as well as energy efficiency, resource efficiency and renewable energy finance; preferably previous exposure to development finance institutions.
Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
Strong ability to handle different tasks simultaneously
Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Team player with an open and engaging communication style and interpersonal skills, enhanced by multicultural sensitivities
Goal oriented, fully committed to deliverable of high-quality results under tight deadlines
Willingness to travel in the countries of FiM operations as necessary
Demonstrable commitment to Finance in Motion´s vision/mission
Previous experience in the Maghreb region is considered a plus.
