What you can expect
The successful candidate will be responsible to grow Admixture Systems (Concrete Admixtures and Cement Grinding Aids) business in Eastern African by achieving the fiscal and non-financial targets set by management annually. Key responsibilities will include:
Drive sales growth for BASF in Eastern Africa
Achieve the financial targets for the assigned territory as set on an annual basis
Maintains products, competitor and industry knowledge and keep abreast with the market trends
Utilise market intelligence to establish the major projects that hold the most potential for the territory
Work closely with members of the regional distributors, to ensure that the best possible service is offered to the prospect and customer base
Assist in providing product and industry knowledge to ensure that there is a seamless interface between the customer, BASF Construction Chemicals, and distributor
Provide sales, stock and forecasting information as required by the management team
Identify all possible barriers to the success of a sale on customer projects and develop strategies to overcome them.
Monitor and analyse the work processes of the company and constantly seek to find more effective, efficient and customer focused method
Keep up to date on company, customer and industry information
What we expect
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification (with Maths and English) in the relevant field. Construction/technical qualification would be an advantage
At least 5-8 years relevant experience in construction
Good industry awareness, understanding of construction industry in Eastern Africa and the experience of dealing with people of various nationalities
Good communications skills, strong organisation skills, good analytic and problem solving skills
Good interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships, strong persuasion and selling skills
Good Computer skills in Microsoft Office packages
