ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (STUDENT WELFARE)– JOB REF: ANU/SW/10/24
Job Purpose:
Responsible for supporting the provision of students’ non-academic services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitate students to secure safe, secure and affordable accommodation
Receive and respond to parents/ guardians/ sponsors of students on student progress (liaise with schools) and discipline matters
Support the end-to-end international students’ process. Handle enquiries and facilitate processing of the pupil’s Support orientation, information sessions, accommodation advice, and periodic engagement activities to ensure excellent 360 experience for international students
Support orientation process of new students every beginning of trimester
Ensure proper filing and record keeping in the Record all disciplinary cases and maintain the records
Report disciplinary cases to the dean of students for consideration and processing
Facilitate communication within the department, drafting of letters, and minute writing
Meet with students for guidance purposes and to resolve individual and communal Listen to students concerns/ complaints and hold weekly meetings with student leaders
Support the development of students’ annual calendar of events. Schedule co-curricular activities related to student services and campus life to ensure conducive atmosphere for study e.g. trips, clubs, societies, mentoring programs and events
Handle logistics during students’ planned events and activities working closely with the corporate affairs function. Liaise with graphic design function in creation of posters and tickets
Support the election and nomination of students’ clubs/ activities leaders. Support training of student council and related logistics
Manage supplies for the department
Support implementation of the code of conduct. Ensure that regulations and policies affecting the students are clear to Enforce and encourage students to attend chapel service and participate in charitable activities
Support coordination of outsourced caterers
Support the clearing of students when leaving the University
Academic and Professional Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience
