    Job Description
    The Manager, Finance and Accounts, will be responsible to the Chief Manager Finance, Treasury and Investment for the overall management and coordination of the Finance and Accounts Function. Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

    Coordinating development, implementation and review of the Sacco financial management policies, standards, guidelines and procedures;
    Coordinating receipt, management and disbursement of the Sacco funds;
    Spearheading design of financial strategies and forecasting financial requirements;
    Guiding in the development of sound financial management systems for the Sacco to ensure transparency and efficiency;
    Identifying sources of funding for Sacco activities and projects and developing action plans;
    Coordinating preparation of the Sacco budgets, controlling and monitoring implementation and ensuring expenditure is in line with the strategic and operational plans of the Society;
    Overseeing proper maintenance of the societies books of accounts in compliance with the relevant legislation, regulation, procedures and guidelines; 
    Ensuring effective management of cash flow and verification of cash flow analysis;
    Coordinating development and implementation of banking services for Sacco funds; 
    Ensuring timely reconciliation of all revenues collected and maintaining up-to-date records of funds; 
    Authorizing and approving payments;
    Ensuring discipline in financial management and reporting on the Society’s financial performance on periodic basis;
    Ensuring compliance with financial procedures and policies in the management of the Society’s funds;
    Collaborating with External Auditors and SASRA to ensure that all financial transactions are in compliance with existing regulatory instruments and accounting standards;
    Collaborating with various financial institutions and capital markets for funding of the Society’s development plans and investments;
    Preparing and filing of statutory reports and returns in compliance with the relevant regulations;
    Preparing annual financial statements and reports in compliance with the relevant laws and regulations; 
    Coordinating preparation of Departmental work plans, procurement plans, budgets and reports; and
    Building capacity and managing performance of the Department. 

    Job Specifications
    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

    Served in the grade of Assistant Manager, Finance and Accounts for a minimum period three (3) years;
    Have Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: Accounts (Accounting/Finance Option), Business Administration (Accounting Option) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
     Have Masters degree in any of the following disciplines: – Business Administration/Management, Commerce, , Finance, Project Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    Have Certified Public Accountants – Kenya (CPA-K) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    Be a member of Institute of Certified Public Accountants Kenya (ICPAK) or any other relevant professional body;
    Certificate in Corporate Governance Course from a recognized institution. from a recognized institution;
    Be proficient in computer applications; and
    Demonstrated managerial, administrative and professional competence in work performance and results.

    Job Descriptions

    The Manager, Corporate Planning and Strategy will be responsible to the Chief Executive Officer for the overall management and administration of corporate planning and strategy matters.

    Specific duties and responsibilities will entail:

    Formulating, implementing and reviewing Corporate Planning policies, systems procedures, standards and guidelines,
    Overseeing development, implementation and monitoring of society’s corporate strategic plan and service charter;
    Overseeing development and implementation of quality management systems;
    Spearheading performance contracting process;
    Monitoring and evaluating Society’s performance;
    Advising management on development and implementation of strategic policy areas such as revenue generation and cost saving;
    Overseeing the alignment of corporate strategy with the society’s overall goals and objectives;
    Overseeing the integration of various business projects implementation in line with the strategic plan;
    Evaluating and monitoring the society’s business projects;
    Aligning corporate strategy with the society’s objective and goals; and
    Carrying out economic analysis and feasibility studies to determine financial implication and viability of the society’s business projects and activities;
    Ensuring that the Board’s development agenda is restricted to planned projects and activities;
    Analyzing emerging trends affecting the society’s mandate and resource requirements; and
    Overseeing preparation of work plans and budget.

    Job Specifications
    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-

    Served in the grade of Assistant Manager corporate planning for a minimum period of three (3) years or in a comparable position in the public or private sector for a minimum period of nine (9) years, three (3) of which must be at a middle management level;
    Bachelors degree in any of the following fields: Economics, Statistics, Economics and Applied Mathematics, Economics and Finance or Economics and Statistics or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    Masters degree in any of the following fields: Economics, Statistics, Economics and Applied Mathematics, Economics and Finance, Economics and Statistics or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    Certificate in Corporate Governance from a recognized institution;
    Be proficient in computer applications; and
    Demonstrated professional and managerial competence in corporate planning work as reflected in work performance and results.

    The Electrical and Telecommunication Technician will report to Senior Administration Officer.
    Job Purpose: Responsible for maintenance of electrical and telecommunication systems and equipment of Mwalimu Towers building and all other Mwalimu National Sacco premises.
    Duties and Responsibilities
    Specific duties and responsibilities will entail:

    Ensuring that all electrical installations are well maintained and operating smoothly.
    Ensuring prompt resolution of all maintenance issues raised on the Society’s generators, UPSs, CCTV, security and fire intruder alarms and access systems among others.
    Ensuring proper maintenance, servicing and timely resolution of the reported technical malfunctioning of the Society’s ultramodern data centre.
    Monitoring and proper maintenance the Society’s conference auditorium technical installations.
    Contracts management and performance reviews of the outsourced technical service providers.
    Carrying up minor repairs of electrical works and telephone services.
    Ensuring that payments and reconciliations of all utility bills and maintenance invoices.
    Sensitizing staff on power conservation techniques.
    Any other duties that may be assigned by management from time to time.

    Key qualifications, knowledge and experience required
    For appointment to this grade, the candidate must have the following qualifications: –

    Higher Diploma in Electrical and electronic engineering.
    Specialised training in telecommunication will be an added advantage.
    At least 4 years’ relevant working experience in electrical engineering field.

    Preparing and organizing Board meetings in compliance with all the laws, regulations and procedures.
    Preparing the Agenda, Board papers, Board minutes and other Board documents including notifications and ensuring that Board members receive the documentation for the meetings in a timely manner.
    Keeping safe custody of minutes of the Board, the common seal. and other Board documentation.
    Providing professional. guidance to the Sacco’s Board, Management and staff and ensuring compliance with the required standards of good corporate governance and good practices.
    Assisting the CEO in all legal matters pertaining to the Society.
    Planning, coordinating and overseeing legal advice and guidance given by the Legal office of the Society to the Board, management, and staff with a view of ensuring compliance with the Laws, regulations and procedures relevant to the mandate and operations of the Sacco.
    Drafting, reviewing and ensuring proper execution of all, legal documents for the society i.e. shareholder agreements, lease agreements, contracts etc.
    Preparing and ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
    Making arrangements for and managing the whole process of the Annual General Meeting and establishing with the Board’s agreement the items to be considered at the AGM.
    Registering Title Documents for the Society’s properties to ensure all properties are properly accounted for.
    Providing pro-active as well as consultative advisory services to senior management on legal matters, policies, procedures and suggest improvements.
    Communicating with and discussing perceived Legal challenges with the Board and CEO.
    Attending court cases for the Society as and when required.
    Facilitating/assisting in debt collection and legal actions for recoveries.
    Settling potential legal matters before going to court to reduce on costs and possible damage to the Society’s image and reputation.
    Liaising with external lawyers to facilitate progress for cases to ensure that all information necessary to the hearing of cases are available.

    Information Systems Auditor Job Duties and Responsibilities
    Performs general and application control reviews for computer information systems.
    Performs information control reviews to include system development standards, operating procedures, system security, programming controls, communication controls, backup and disaster recovery, and system maintenance.
    Directs and/or performs reviews of internal control procedures and security for systems under development and/or enhancements to current systems.
    Recommends revisions to audit procedures to enhance efficiencies. Reviews internal controls throughout the
    Society by evaluating the adequacy of system controls and recommends improvements.
    Prepares audit finding memoranda and working papers to ensure that adequate documentation exists to support the completed audit and conclusions.
