  • Public Relations Assistant

    Public Relations Assistant

    Reporting to Operations Director the “Public Relations Assistant” is responsible of all in country linkages including coordination of marketing, fundraising and communications activities. He/she uses a wide range of strategies to build and sustain good relationships between the organization and its members, beneficiaries and partners. His/her job is to secure additional funding to enable the continuing work.
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    Facilitate, coordinate and act as primary point-of-contact for all in country affairs and linkages including:
    maintaining the relationships with current partners and
    Establishing new relationships with other organizations; individuals; communities and government.
    Develop, review, and enhance content for print, electronic, social media platforms and website to communicate information to members, volunteers and other stakeholders.
    Develop and execute a fundraising action plan/strategy for ITF projects financing:
    Identify potential funding opportunities/sources;
    Prepare Grants proposals.
    Develop and implement organizational PR strategies including generating news releases and communicate to media as well as handling publicity activities for ITF.
    Track, monitor and evaluate PR strategies, Public and media impressions.
    Design and implement research data to support program/project.
    Organize and evaluate PR and fundraising events as well as representing ITF in such events.
    Hire, train/mentor, supervise, and evaluate department (PR) volunteer staffs,
    Other responsibilities may be assigned.
    Knowledge and Skills:
    The Applicant must possess or is passionately eager to learn and the following knowledge/skills and is able to demonstrate, that the essential functions of this position can be performed:
    Hold at least a Bachelors Degree in related fields such as Communications, journalism, marketing etc
    Have excellent communication skills orally and in writing (minimally in English), excellent interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to work with diverse individuals or group of individuals.
    Ability to come up with creative ideas for communication and promotional materials, fundraising, identify potential opportunities for raising funds and writing grant proposals.
    Possess great Social Media skills especially leveraging Facebook and Twitter and other platforms for publicity and engaging a wide range of people.
    Have basic Computer skills including Graphic communication and publications.
    Have a good Media Relations skills; able to write press releases and involve the media in ITF events and activities.
    Able to organize and plan events for ITF including Fundraising and trainings.
    Ability to maintain an established work schedule, with or without flexibility.
    Strong organizational and management skills- ability to multi task and prioritize.
    Motivated to learn and take on new challenges.
    Willingness and capacity to volunteer.
    Unparallel passion and commitment for youth development.
    Compensation: Although ITF Volunteer staffs enjoy limitless opportunities, ITF does NOT provide any kind of compensation. ITF Staffs operates on full time volunteer basis for a minimum of 6 months contract.     International Relations Assistant

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    Facilitate, coordinate and act as primary point-of-contact for all international affairs including:
    maintaining the relationship with current international partners and
    establishing new relationships with international organizations and states/Governments .
    Hire, train/mentor, supervise, and evaluate International Programs and or offices volunteer staffs,
    Receive and mentor International volunteers, ensuring they are well settled and facilitate their quick adjustment to their new environment,
    Organize and evaluate international programs including conferences, events and seminars as well as representing ITF in such,
    Identify and prepare grant proposal and or other fundraising strategies for international programs/projects/offices,
    Spearhead the ITF international expansion ( the ITF Dream challenge) by :
    opening new branches in East Africa, Africa and the world;
    Initiating international marketing, communications and Fund-raising initiatives.
    Direct the International Office branches including programs/projects planning, development,monitoring & evaluation and oversight of budgets,
    Other responsibilities may be assigned .
    Basic Knowledge & Skills required:

    Administration Intern

    Reporting to Administration Assistant, work with him/her to provide full reception, secretarial and administrative support to all services provided by the organization, as may be required for the effective and efficient operation of, and reporting on the service.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Provide administrative support to the Secretary General, Operations Director, and other staffs.
    Undertake office reception duties, both in person and on the telephone.
    Operate manual and computerized office systems for instance filing and maintaining:
    Members database;
    Monthly and Annual reports database;
    Contacts Database.
    Undertake general office duties such as:
    dealing with the post, faxes and e-mail;
    drafting and sending standard letters;
    photocopying and collating papers and mailings;
    arranging for documents to be printed;
    monitoring and ordering stocks of basic items such as stamps, stationery, periodicals, equipment and other items;
    Arranging travels: hotel and accommodation etc.
    Assist with the organization of meetings of the Board of Directors and other meetings.

    Projects Assistant

    Reporting to Operations Director, the ‘Projects Assistant’ is an integral member of the ITF team and is responsible for delivering and building development projects of varying size and complexity. The Projects Assistant is responsible for directing, organizing and controlling project activities.
    Responsibilities Include:

    Preparing documentation (reports, proposals and records) to support the project team.
    Monitoring project plan implementation and tracking timelines and milestones of each project.
    Coordinating project documentation from multiple sources.
    Coordinating and monitoring status of deliverables.
    Reporting variations or discrepancies to management.
    Coordinating schedules for team members.
    Attending beneficiaries/partners meetings and assist with determination of project requirements.
    Communicate ideas for improving processes with a positive and constructive attitude, and for developing this attitude in others. **
