    The key job role will include Managing FIDA Kenya by providing leadership and responsibility for the guiding the implementation of the organization’s vision and mission.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    Oversee the development of FIDA Kenya Strategic Plan and ensure its successful implementation.
    Provide leadership and assume responsibility for the guiding vision FIDA Kenya.
    programmes and work plans
    Oversees the preparation of press releases
    Represent the organization within the media and at high level meetings of donors, government and likeminded stakeholders
    Review grant and funding proposals
    Enhances the impact of FIDA Kenya’s programmes and activities.
    Authorization of payment, signing of cheques and approval of payment vouchers.
    Build and sustain effective partnerships with government, like-minded organizations and other civil societies.
    Create an enabling environment for staff to ensure there is knowledge sharing, capacity building and team building in the workplace.
    Ensure the formulation and successful implementation of FIDA Kenya programmes
    Manage the programmes of FIDA Kenya.
    Enhance the impact of FIDA Kenya’s programmes and activities.
    Ensure formulation and successful implementation of the FIDA Kenya strategic plan and advocacy strategy.
    Build and sustain effective partnerships with government, like-minded organizations and other civil societies.
    Effectively raise resources for the organization from existing as well as new donors
    Develop programmes and appropriate work plans and activities.
    Provide effective and efficient management of FIDA Kenya’s human, financial and information management resources
    Create an enabling environment by focusing on knowledge sharing, capacity building and team building in the workplace.
    Promote gender equality and women’s empowerment
    Raise the international reputation and profile of FIDA Kenya.
    Secretary to the council of FIDA and coordinates Council Board meeting and activities
    Qualifications:
    Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Laws (LLB) or Gender and Development studies or equivalent
    At least 12 years post qualification experience admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid practicing certificate
    Postgraduate (Masters of laws) degree, or related field is an added advantage (optional)
    Personal Skills:
    Possess excellent leadership, managerial and organizational skills, including the demonstrated ability to lead programmes.
    Knowledge and experience in human rights, gender and women’s rights issues.

    Duties:-
    Monitoring & Evaluation and Learning
    Monitor development and implementation of programme activities with particular focus on results, impacts and lesson learning
    Promote results based approach to M&E emphasizing
    Provide support and guidance to programme staff on M&E activities
    Follow up on monthly reports from staff on programme progress
    Provide feedback on programme reports highlighting areas of concern and progress and
    Ensure timely submission of organization reports especially to donors
    Generate secretariat and organization annual reports based on programme reports from staff
    Organize and provide refresher training in M&E for staff
    Facilitate, design and implement M&E tools
    Undertake and facilitate the implementation of M&E plan, regularly revising and updating performance questions, indicators, methods and formats
    Identify problems with the M&E system and modify the system, as necessary
    Ensure that staffs are receiving adequate support to be able to implement their M&E functions.
    Resource Mobilization
    Prepare, review and submit funding concepts and proposals in consultation with staff and partners
    Undertake due diligence assessments of potential grantors including collating of grants documentation and develop and maintain a donor base
    Apply grantors policy in programs and administrative activities and support compliance to donor obligations and policy requirements
    Ensure effective coordination of donor approaches across the organization
    Coordinate grant inception meetings
    Collaborate with management to review the organization resource mobilization strategy and constantly update the resource mobilization matrix that is, track and monitor grant concepts and proposals submitted.
    Advice on developing relationships with strategic partners, NGOs, government agencies, companies, foundations and other organizations and individuals to create collaborations that will raise profile with potential donors or create partnerships in fundraising.
    Qualifications
    Bachelor’s degree in Social Science/ Statistics/ Project Management or a related field
    At least THREE YEARS relevant experience in an NGO set up.
    Professional certification in M&E/ Grants and member of a professional body
    Experience in proposal writing and resource mobilization strategies
    Proficient in MS Office Suite and highly organized and able to multitask.
    Proficiency in statistical computer packages e.g. SPSS
    Willing to travel

    Details:
    FIDA/GO/01/2019: GRANT OFFICER – FUNDRAISING (BASED IN NAIROBI)
    Report to: The Deputy Executive Director and Head of Programmes.
    Duties and Responsibilities:

    To develop and implement a sustainable fundraising strategy for FIDA Kenya, ensuring it supports and contributes to the FIDA Kenya Sustainability Plan and Strategic Plan.
    Set and achieve fundraising targets, agreed in consultation with the Executive Director.
    Create a sustainable and diverse fundraising portfolio, with funding streams including corporates, events, foundations, developmental organizations and other grant-makers, with appropriate priorities.
    Create and activate a calendar of events geared towards fundraising and donor stewardship.
    Working closely with the Management and Programme Team to produce timely and quality funding proposals in accordance with the terms of grants.
    Liaise with the Finance Manager to prepare fundraising budgets.
    Carry out prospect research and develop a comprehensive fundraising database that captures all relevant information as well as handling all administrative aspects of fundraising.
    Managing the grant application process and ensuring that reporting is tracked and meets donors’ expectations.
    Cultivate and nurture relationships with funders, donors and sponsors, keeping accurate and up-to-date records of all communication and applying robust account management.
    Report to the Board Resource Mobilization Committee on a quarterly basis of progress to-date of specific fundraising activities and income targets.
    Attending relevant fundraising forums and groups.
    Remain abreast of fundraising standards, trends and best practice, taking responsibility for maintaining own learning and attending training as required.

    Qualifications & Experiences

    MUST have at least 3 years’ experience in fundraising with a strong track record of securing funding for NGO activities from a variety of funding streams.
    Experience in participatory proposal development processes.

    Donor knowledge.

    Budgeting principles.
    Superior writing and presentation skills.
    Knowledge and understanding of key issues in women empowerment.

    Link with strategic partners including NGOs, Government departments and relevant bodies.
    Support clients to access justice through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and other informal justice systems.
    Training clients on self-representation.
    Preparation of programme /activity plans and reports.
    Authorize expenditure at the sector/departmental level through approving requisitions, approving litigation fund.
    Monitor and evaluate programmes and activities (prepare and oversee the preparation of team’s work plan, result based management reports, monthly team reports, activity reports)
    Supervises staff in Mombasa regional office.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized University.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Under the guidance of Executive Director, manage and ensure the formulation and successful implementation of FIDA Kenya programmes.
    Provide leadership, motivation, mentorship and productivity within the programs.
    Contribute to the development of programs and appropriate work plans and activities to be implemented.
    Providing technical support to programs and project officers in managing grants portfolio, analysis and information.
    Assist in developing and periodically reviewing resource mobilization strategies.
    Review and submitted funding concepts and proposals from the Finance department in consultation with the Executive Director.
    Ensure the development of quality proposals and submission of donor reports.
    Representing FIDA Kenya in external donors’ forums and partner activities.
    Coordinate the running of the three offices in Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu.
    Assist the Executive Director to build and sustain effective partnerships with government, like minded organizations and other civil societies.
    Assist the Executive Director in enhancing FIDA Kenya’s visibility.

    Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

     Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a current practicing certificate and over 7 years’ post admission experience, 3 of which should be in senior management. A Masters qualification will be an added advantage.
    Knowledge of program planning, designing, monitoring & evaluation and financial management skills.
    Knowledge and experience in Human Rights, Gender & Women’s Rights Issues.
    Experience in litigation.
    Proven management capabilities with experience in a busy office.
    Results oriented, creative and innovative.
    Ability to manage professional staff with diverse skills.

    Duties

    Attending to clients and advising on various processes that are required in the filing of matters in the Court Registry.
    Serving of all the court processes and updating the FIDA office and Clients
    Filling and retrieving clients files
    Drafting relevant legal documents.
    Participate in legal dispute resolution and mediation on related matters as brought to the attention of the relevant FIDA Kenya office.
    Manage FIDA and Court Registry.
    Receiving court reports from clients of all matters from the court and updating files.
    Updating all the Access to Justice team’s diaries including the Master diary to inform on upcoming matters and progress of all that have been served upon.
    Support the team in Training of clients on self-representation in court.
    Conduct file audits to ensure they are in order before serving the same to the relevant recipients and in Court.
    Ensure financial budgeting and requisitions for branch office in the requests for filing fees requirements and follow-up and assist in auditing of the same as and when called upon to do so.

    Qualifications

    Diploma in Legal Studies
    Licensed court process server
    Holder of a Certificate of Good Conduct
    MUST have 2 years work experience.
    Work in Non-Governmental Organisation will be an added advantage.
