    Responsibilities

    Provide legal advice to FIDA Kenya clients.
    Provide legal representation to FIDA Kenya clients.
    Prepare pleadings and legal briefs.
    Make interventions and petitions on behalf of the public in gender related issues including Public Interest Litigation (PIL).
    Link with strategic partners including NGOs, Government departments and relevant bodies.
    Support clients to access justice through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and other informal justice systems.
    Training clients on self-representation.
    Preparation of programme /activity plans and reports.
    Authorize expenditure at the sector/departmental level through approving requisitions, approving litigation fund.
    Monitor and evaluate programmes and activities (prepare and oversee the preparation of team’s work plan, result based management reports, monthly team reports, activity reports)
    Supervises staff in Mombasa regional office.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized University.
    Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with FIVE (5) years post admission experience.
    Must possess a valid practicing certificate.
    Should have knowledge of program planning, designing, monitoring & evaluation.
    Must possess strong writing skills, proficiency in computers, organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
    Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Litigation, Gender & Women’s rights Issues.
    Strong interpersonal communication skills.

    Reports to the Executive Director
    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Under the guidance of Executive Director, manage and ensure the formulation and successful implementation of FIDA Kenya programmes.
    Provide leadership, motivation, mentorship and productivity within the programs.
    Contribute to the development of programs and appropriate work plans and activities to be implemented.
    Providing technical support to programs and project officers in managing grants portfolio, analysis and information.
    Assist in developing and periodically reviewing resource mobilization strategies.
    Review and submitted funding concepts and proposals from the Finance department in consultation with the Executive Director.
    Ensure the development of quality proposals and submission of donor reports.
    Representing FIDA Kenya in external donors’ forums and partner activities.
    Coordinate the running of the three offices in Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu.
    Assist the Executive Director to build and sustain effective partnerships with government, like minded organizations and other civil societies.
    Assist the Executive Director in enhancing FIDA Kenya’s visibility.

    Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

     Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a current practicing certificate and over 7 years’ post admission experience, 3 of which should be in senior management. A Masters qualification will be an added advantage.
    Knowledge of program planning, designing, monitoring & evaluation and financial management skills.
    Knowledge and experience in Human Rights, Gender & Women’s Rights Issues.
    Experience in litigation.
    Proven management capabilities with experience in a busy office.
    Results oriented, creative and innovative.
    Ability to manage professional staff with diverse skills.
    Must be a good team player, self-motivated & self-driven.
    Excellent writing and communication skills.
    Proficiency in computers, organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.

    Attending to clients and advising on various processes that are required in the filing of matters in the Court Registry.
    Serving of all the court processes and updating the FIDA office and Clients
    Filling and retrieving clients files
    Drafting relevant legal documents.
    Participate in legal dispute resolution and mediation on related matters as brought to the attention of the relevant FIDA Kenya office.
    Manage FIDA and Court Registry.
    Receiving court reports from clients of all matters from the court and updating files.
    Updating all the Access to Justice team’s diaries including the Master diary to inform on upcoming matters and progress of all that have been served upon.
    Support the team in Training of clients on self-representation in court.
    Conduct file audits to ensure they are in order before serving the same to the relevant recipients and in Court.
    Ensure financial budgeting and requisitions for branch office in the requests for filing fees requirements and follow-up and assist in auditing of the same as and when called upon to do so.

    Qualifications

    Diploma in Legal Studies
    Licensed court process server
    Holder of a Certificate of Good Conduct
    MUST have 2 years work experience.
    Work in Non-Governmental Organisation will be an added advantage.

    Duties:-
    Prepare, review and submit funding concepts and proposals in consultation with staff and partners
    Undertake due diligence assessments of potential grantors including collating of grants documentation and develop and maintain a donor base
    Apply grantors policy in programs and administrative activities and support compliance to donor obligations and policy requirements
    Ensure effective coordination of donor approaches across the organization
    Coordinate grant inception meetings
    Collaborate with management to review the organization resource mobilization strategy and constantly update the resource mobilization matrix that is, track and monitor grant concepts and proposals submitted.
    Advice on developing relationships with strategic partners, NGOs, government agencies, companies, foundations and other organizations and individuals to create collaborations that will raise profile with potential donors or create partnerships in fundraising.
    Qualifications     •  Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences / Project Management or a related field.    •  At least THREE YEARS relevant experience in project management, networking, donor relations and developing / writing project proposals    •  Experience with Monitoring & Evaluation systems in NGO context Professional certification in grants and member of a professional body     •  Experience in proposal writing and resource mobilization strategies     •  Proficient in MS Office Suite and highly organized and able to multitask.
