    CBK hereby invites applications from qualified candidates for the Central Bank of Kenya Internship Program. Opportunities are available in the following functions; Finance, Research, Banking and Payment Services, Human Resources, Communications and Legal Services. 
    In line with its mandate of maintaining stability and fostering a stable financial system, the Central Bank of Kenya has been running an Internship Program that seeks to develop a pool of young talent adequately exposed to Central and Commercial banking operations. The Internship Program runs for six (6) months after which the candidates are released to pursue opportunities in the job market.

    A first degree from a recognized university in any of the following disciplines: Finance, Economics, Statistics, Banking, Accounting, Micro-Finance, Management or Social Sciences, Law, or related discipline or a Master’s degree in a relevant field;
    Kenyan between 21 and 29 years of age;
    Must have graduated within the last 24 months from the closing date of the advertisement and/or awaiting graduation;
    Applicants must provide a recommendation/reference letter from the university attended; and
    Should not have undertaken any other Internship Program or been exposed to work-place experience related to their area of study since graduating.

    Job Purpose
    Reporting to the Pensions Administrator, the Pensions Benefits Manager is responsible for the day to day administration of the CBK Pension Fund operations which includes management of member records, verification and payment of benefits to members, preparation of monthly/quarterly reports as well as overseeing Claims Management, Client Engagement, Financial Advisory and Members Education.
    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    Strategic Responsibilities

    Actively participate in the development, implementation, execution and evaluation of the strategic plans in support of the overall mission of the Fund.
    Implement measures towards customer satisfaction, treating members fairly and overall good governance.

    Technical and Operational Responsibilities

    Ensure proper maintenance of pensioners’ records.
    Prepare reports for various Board committees, Board of Trustees, and members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
    Attend to internal and external Audit queries.
    Provide input to the annual budget.
    Ensure compliance with the Retirement Benefits Act and other statutory requirements.
    Implementation of Strategic Objectives, Reports and Audit findings.
    Monthly reconciliation of benefits paid to members.
    Assist in drafting of new policies and procedures.

    Other Responsibilities

    Attend meetings with service providers.
    Provide data for IAS 19 actuarial valuation to the sponsor.
    Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

    Qualifications

    A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Accounting & Finance) or equivalent.
    Professional Accounting qualification(s) such as CPA (K), ACCA or equivalent.

    Work Experience
    A minimum of eight (8) years’ post qualification experience with at least three (3) years as a Pensions Benefits Manager.

    Job Purpose
    The role holder is responsible for providing support on all matters to audit team leader on ensuring well audit documentation during evaluation of efficiency of controls within the bank.
    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    Carry out audit and consultancy assignments;
    Carry out special audit assignments as may be directed from time to time;
    Document business processes and workflows for departments under review to ensure adequate audit coverage;
    Preparation of comprehensive, concise and easy to follow working papers;
    Drafting Audit observations, risks and action points for review by the team leader and Internal Audit Management;

    Reporting to the Medical Officer in Charge, the Clinical Officer will apply medical knowledge and skills in the diagnosis, prevention and management of diseases.

    Give consultation services to all patients in the staff clinic, diagnosing, giving health education, counselling and treatment;
    Take patients notes, examine and document all findings both for legal reference and for the benefit of other medical staff;
    Liaise with other service providers to ensure efficient and effective management of patients;
    Refer patients to hospitals, physiotherapy, x-ray units, laboratory, external doctors and other service providers;

    The Head of Payment Services Policy Development & Data Analysis is responsible for overseeing the development of policy that govern the National Payment Systems (NPS) as well as conduct research and analysis of the performance of the national payment systems.
    Responsibilities

    Contribute as appropriate to the performance of National Payment Systems functions and to the overall achievement of CBK’s strategic objectives;
    Guide and support implementation of an integrated information management system for electronic submission and processing of NPS returns;
    Carry out research and analysis on emerging issues e.g. FinTechs;
    Continuously review and propose updates to NPS policy framework, law and regulations in line with international best practices;
    Identify new areas for inclusive financing and recommend actions for policy formulation;
    Coordinate all activities related to financial inclusion as well as sensitization and training on the new payment platforms;
    Monitor industry developments and continuously update NPS returns templates;
    Ensure timely submission of NPS returns and provide periodic standard analytical reports;
    Implement an integrated information system for electronic submission of NPS returns;
    Perform analysis and verification of payment data and update the statistics on the CBK website;
    Design consumer awareness programs;
    Overseeing training of staff in the Section to enable the staff perform in line with Bank guidelines;

    Qualifications

    A degree in Business, Economics, Banking, Finance, Insurance, Law, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field of study;

    Work Experience

    Minimum of eight (8) years’ work experience in Banking Operations and Payment Systems, Financial Services, Economics, Accounting or similar operations, with five (5) years in a supervisory position.

    Senior Legal Officers Job Qualifications
    Minimum Upper Second Class Bachelor’s Degree in Law.

    Possess a Diploma from the Council of Legal Education.
    Master’s degree in Law or any other discipline is an added advantage
