    Job Description

    We are seeking a candidate to lead financial decisions for our Kenya program, and be based in Kakamega, Kenya.
    Primary Duties And Responsibilities

    Financial Consulting for Country Leadership. Shape strategy on all major operational decisions by analyzing them under a financial light. Work with country leadership to increase revenue, decrease cost / farmer, and mitigate financial risks.
    Develop the Financial Models for Key Decisions. Support the various teams in evolving the way we do financial analytics. For example:
    Work with field operations to identify profitable districts and decrease incentives
    Work with logistics to decrease the cost per farmer
    Work with human resources to develop a lean staffing structure
    Work with our innovations team to lead our pricing strategy
    Lead our Long-Term Planning. Own our annual 5-year strategy document, with major emphasize on a realistic 5-year financial model that pushes the organization towards higher sustainability, more farmers, and greater impact. Lead the annual budgeting process to build budgets for each department and country. Accurately forecast our financials, one year out, so that our executive teams can make well-informed decisions.
    Hold Our Teams Accountable to Our Long-Term Plans. Work with department heads and country directors to stay on budget and mitigate risks. FAS is responsible for keeping the country on financial target. Provide monthly reports on our results alongside thorough analysis and recommendations for improved efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and product pricing.
    Country Finance point of contact. Act as the main country representative and project manage a variety of finance-related projects by working to connect our Accounting, and Treasury teams with country teams. 
    Mentor Staff and Project Manage.Recruit, manage and develop a key deputy to assist you. Project manage complex projects related to finance across the country.

    Note: This role does not manage the payment, accounting, or treasury functions which operate independently. This role uses the advice and data from these teams to influence executive decisions.

    Key Responsibilities Include
    The Grants Finance Associate will take ownership of grants finance execution. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of work experience in a corporate finance or grants finance role, with significant exposure to financial or grant budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes and deliverables.
    Design and own budgets for a >$50m grant portfolio: Develop tailored grant budgets for new funding proposals to fuel our ambitious targets.     Additional Responsibilities Include

    The Grants Finance Manager will lead our grants finance function, overseeing the associate and execution while also driving strategy and communication with key stakeholders in Business Development and Finance. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience managing budget proposals and reports for large, multi-year grants for foundations and bilaterals, within a large, international NGO.
    Manage and innovate Grants Finance function: Oversee the workflow across reporting team with excellent execution of Grants Finance deliverables. Review and improve our current tools, systems, and strategy.
    Facilitate cross-department collaboration: Act as the key channel of communication between Business Development, Finance, country leadership, and external donors. Develop the systems and channels needed to facilitate this seamless collaboration.

    Responsibilities

    Qualifications

Our fourteen-person team champions the idea that hard-working farmers are at the heart of rural development and national prosperity.
    Responsibilities Include
    You’ll serve as the lead writer and editor for all one One Acre Fund audiences, ranging from U.S funders and policymakers and to East African government partners and prospective job applicants. You’ll also develop aspiring writers within the communications team and across the organization.

    Writing

    As an in-house reporter, you’ll identify compelling One Acre Fund stories and trends to share globally.
    Serve as lead author for our blog and core brand collateral (e.g., website, annual report)
    Propose and author op-eds to support One Acre Fund thought leadership in the U.S. and East Africa
    Proactively identify stories across our East African operations that would interest varied audiences
    Develop core messaging on One Acre Fund programs, policy positions, and hot topics

    Editing
