    The People Division Director’s responsibilities would include, but not be limited to:

    Strategy & Vision

    Together with country leadership, set and steer the course for the 5 – 15-year vision.
    Run annual goal setting and planning processes for all people-departments. Ensure annual plans align with the long-term vision and targets.
    Measure progress against goals, regularly report on progress, and hold the team accountable for prioritizing and delivering results in key strategic areas.

    Communication

    Proactively and effectively communicate up to country leadership, down to departments, and across to other sets of leaders.
    Set agenda and facilitate regular People Division Meetings, engaging departments with one another’s work, assuring that everyone is moving together reinforcing efforts.
    Ensure People Departments are collaborating effectively with individuals, teams, and divisions outside of the people division. Set-up appropriate systems of communication to keep everyone moving together.
    Participate in global people work and collaborate with other country programs.

    Management & Training

    Serve as direct management line to key people departments in Kenya. These include Human Resources, Corporate Operations, Training, and People Analytics. Management will include oversight, weekly reporting meetings, performance reviews and development, strategic direction and support.
    Ensure that all staff receives effective mentorship to promote career growth.
    Work with training department to run major staff training across the entire team.
    Personally lead training sessions for senior staff members.

    Oversee Day-to-Day Execution

    Ensure that everything the People Division does is executed to world-class standards.

    The Planning and Data Lead guides and manages the overall direction of the Data Unit of the Kenya Logistics Team, and leads the planning and data work for our Core Deliveries Unit.     One Acre Fund will purchase over $60M worth of agricultural and non-agricultural inputs for direct sale to over 900,000 smallholder farmers in 2018. Through distribution of these goods and innovative trainings, we produce $129 of impact per farmer, of which, $27 can be attributed to the distribution of non-agricultural inputs such as solar lights, efficient wood-burning cookstoves, and storage materials. Access to these life-improving inputs electrifies households, allows farmers to store their grain, and gives farmers and their families the tools they need to grow themselves out of poverty.
    We are looking for someone to play an integral role on our non-agricultural supply chain team by taking charge of procurement and end-end logistics for these life improving products. In this role, you will build rock solid supplier relationships, reduce importation costs, and stay in front of the regulatory environment in East Africa to deliver high quality goods on time at the feet of over 900,000 smallholder farmers.
    Responsibilities of the Non-Agricultural Goods Supply Chain Specialist will include:

    Execute our Purchasing Strategy

    Coordinate the sourcing, importation, and delivery of over 480,000 solar lights, 10,000 stoves, 100,000 tarpaulins, and 300,000 storage bags each year.
    Stay at the forefront of regulations and policies surrounding the purchase and delivery of solar lights, cookstoves, and other plastics products throughout East and Southern Africa.
    Build relationships with leaders in the plastics, solar, and cookstoves industry to stay at the forefront of shifts in the global industry.
    Manage supplier relationships and coordinate between suppliers and in-country teams to deliver the best service possible to the farmers we serve.

    Job Description
    General Responsibilities

    Referral Program Administration – One Acre Fund has an innovative referral program which engages our staff members to refer people in their networks to open roles across the organization. The largest area of the Recruitment Specialist’s role will be to oversee and execute the administration of the Referral Program.
    Program Coordination – The Recruitment Specialist will ensure the Referral Program plan is up to date and all projects are on-track. They will also coordinate, set the agenda for, and lead regular program team meetings.
    Staff Engagement – The Recruitment Specialist will provide quality customer service to the 400+ staff participating in the program, as well as lead staff engagement initiatives which include bi-weekly newsletters, quarterly all-staff calls, quarterly campaigns, networking trainings, and resource and referral activity development.
    Staff On/Offboarding – As new staff members join the organization, the Recruitment Specialist will orient them to the referral program, and as staff leave, the Recruitment Specialist will be responsible for helping them understand how they can contribute to One Acre Fund’s long term recruitment goals as alumni.
    Reward Payouts – Staff who participate in the Referral Program are eligible for incentives which are paid out monthly, quarterly, and annually. The Recruitment Specialist is responsible for cleansing our candidate data, preparing a “scoreboard” where staff have access to information about their referrals, and sending a list of rewards payouts to the Finance team for disbursement.
    Reporting – Because the Referral Program is one of One Acre Fund’s top sources of hire, it is important for us to develop and review reliable metrics of program health. The
    Recruitment Specialist will be responsible for regular reporting and analysis of referral data.
    Program Planning Support – The Recruitment Specialist will assist in setting the annual Referral Program strategy and development of the program plan.
    Candidate Outreach – Recruitment Specialists will use recruitment tools to identify and reach out to potential candidates. They will work with the larger Recruitment Team on the outreach strategies and follow-up with potential candidates.
    Job Postings – A majority of our applicants hear about opportunities at OAF via online postings. Recruitment Specialists will ensure that all job postings are up-to-date and continuously posted to relevant online job boards candidates
    Event Support – Recruitment Specialists will assist in the coordination of recruitment events offsite (researching events, coordinating, marketing) as well as helping to plan internal department and organizational events.
    Research – The Recruitment Specialist will play an integral part in ensuring our talent search is effective and successful and would be called on to complete research or specialized tasks to assist with innovative strategies to recruit talented applicants. Recruitment Specialists will complete periodic research on new outreach channels, partners, events or tools to improve our overall reach.
    Miscellaneous – We are a young organization that is growing rapidly. This means that all staffers pitch in to ensure we are providing the very best support and services to both our staffers and clients.
    Program Fluency – The Recruitment Specialist will work to understand our field program and all of the complexities of operating at scale. Program fluency is critical as the
    Recruitment Specialist prepares to represent One Acre Fund externally in interviews and at events.Informational Interviews – Recruitment Specialists will conduct initial interviews with potential candidates to answer questions as they prepare their application.
    Data Analysis Assistance – Our team is constantly looking to optimize the recruitment process, and we collect a significant amount of data which Recruitment Specialists cleanse and analyze.
    Administrative Tasks – We are looking for a diligent and enthusiastic teammate who can tackle tasks quickly and accurately.
    Additional Responsibilities After 6-12 Months In The Role
    Referral Program Planning – In addition to Referral Program administration, the Recruitment Specialist will work to assume full ownership of the program’s vision, strategy, and planning.
    Event Planning – The Recruitment Specialist will begin by shadowing and assisting with event logistics, observing how they are conducted. As a Recruitment Specialist becomes more confident, experienced, and fluent in One Acre Fund’s program, they will transition to taking on certain events (webinars and career fairs) themselves.
    Special Projects – The Recruitment Specialist will play an integral part in ensuring our talent search is effective and successful and would be asked to come up with innovative projects and recruitment strategies.
    Candidate Interviews – Recruiters complete anywhere from 4-12 interviews in a week. The Recruitment Specialist will begin shadowing interviews for 2-3 months before conducting them independently.

    Qualifications

    Organizational Skills – Superior organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail; the ability to perform tasks accurately and efficiently. The ability to multi-task while effectively prioritizing. The routine tasks of the Recruitment Specialist will often have non-flexible deadlines.
    Education – Top-performing academic performance. Please include grades and test scores on your CV.
    Language – Fluent in English. Kinyarwanda and Swahili preferred. French desirable.

    Job Description

    One Acre Fund is looking for an experienced, fiercely entrepreneurial, and humble leader to start our new Pay-As-You-Go Solar Sales Program. In this role, you will create and rapidly iterate on a new distribution model alongside One Acre Fund’s core operations that has the ability to distribute solar lights and other products to hundreds of thousands of clients annually. You will be responsible for moving this project from it’s pilot stage to scale by (1) designing a growth strategy, (2) monitoring performance in order to drive operational excellence, (3) using customer insights and business experiments to rapidly drive forward program improvements that result in excellent customer experience, and (4) building a high performing team that embodies the values of One Acre Fund. You excel in the ambiguity of a startup environment and you are eager to drive the success of this new sales model.
    Responsibilities for this role would include, but are not limited to:
    Strategy & Vision

    Design a strategy to scale the new program quickly within a budget and ambitious but achievable targets for the team to perform against.
    Monitor client experience, pricing, marketing, sales, distribution, and service of the Solar Sales Program while continuously creating improvements to the program.
    Use customer insights and rapid business experiments to generate improvements to to the program.Contribute to the setting of department-level OKRs, KPIs and project targets.
    Measure progress against goals, regularly report on progress, and hold team accountable to delivering results in key strategic areas.

    Team Management

    Product Support

    Ensure solar product specifications and requirements are understood by all external teams supporting distribution, training, repairs, and follow ups (Field Operations, Business Operations, etc.).
    Engage with product suppliers with the Global Inputs team to set strategy, align on expectations and provide product feedback.
    Research and understand key products and best practices in functional work areas at other organizations.
    Meet with and maintain relationships with key external solar product partners of One Acre Fund. This could include product suppliers, donors to One Acre Fund, consultants, and leaders from partner organizations.

    Budgeting

    Participate in annual budgeting process, specifically for Solar Sales Program projects.
    Regularly review monthly actual spending against planned spending.
    Keeping the program operating to maximum efficiency.
    Financially model scale trajectories of the program

    Scaling

    Use insights gathered during the pilot to generate rapid improvements to the Solar Sales Program that will ensure we are offering a product clients love and we are creating a program that can scale rapidly and efficiently.
    Create excellence in all aspects of the program, including marketing, repayment, field staff management, distribution, and after-sales support.
    Develop a scalable hiring process for solar agents working in the Solar Sales Program and build a team with world class business professionalism that embodies One Acre Fund Values
    Integrate the Solar Sales Program seamlessly into One Acre Fund Core Program operations and systems as the program scales.
