    The Deputy Country Director – Operations will report to the Country Director and set the strategy for managing a 3,000 person workforce and running the largest rural delivery network in Kenya. You will directly manage over 225 staff and two essential divisions: People and Systems.
    You will:

    Guide country-level strategy for our largest country operations, together with the Country Director and two other Deputy Country Directors.

    Be a member of the Kenya Leadership Team, leading country-wide strategy and important projects alongside this group of senior leaders.

    Manage the People Division Lead. This is a 75+ person division consisting of two major departments; Human Resources and Corporate Operations.

    Work with the People Director to improve our people support to over 3,000 employees in the Kenya program by making systematic upgrades to our HR systems and corporate operations processes and services

    Our Deputy Director, Global Sourcing will be the Global Sourcing Directors key deputy in leading a 50+ person team to deliver high quality, well-priced inputs to our clients while preparing our systems for scale.     Job DescriptionOne Acre Fund’s Internal Investigations Team works under the Global Legal Department and is in charge of conducting investigations into cases of fraud, ethics, and policy violations. The Kenya Investigations Specialist will be in charge leading the investigations team for the One Acre Fund Kenya Program, our largest and most visible country of operations, under One Acre Fund’s East Africa Legal Counsel. He or she will also help strengthen and streamline investigation processes in the country, as well as creating prevention/detection mechanisms for fraud and misconduct across the entire organization.Core ResponsibilitiesSpecific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Leading the investigation into cases of fraud or cases and misconduct. He or she will prepare and submit draft and final reports to Global Legal and other stakeholders. This may include managing other investigations team staff or staff from other departments who are participating in an investigation and directing the overall team strategy.
    Develop key strategies and policies for the investigations team on an annual basis in conjunction with the Global Legal Department and Kenya Country Program’s goals.
    Manage two-experienced Internal Investigators working on other cases, review their work, oversee their investigations processes and styles, and ensure they are developing professionally.
    Lead trainings across the Kenya Program on topics in fraud and misconduct.
    Coordinate reporting to local legal counsel. The Kenya Investigations Specialist is expected to report or oversee the reporting by one of the department’s investigator for civil actions resulting from investigations.
    Monitor, compile, and report on fraud and misconduct data to One Acre Fund’s East Africa Counsel on a quarterly basis.

    Additional Responsibilities

    HR/employment law – For candidates with a relevant HR/employment law background, this role would also include providing day-to-day legal counsel to our expanding HR team.

    We’re looking for a full-time videographer for a six-month contract to produce professional quality short videos for One Acre Fund trainings, marketing, fundraising, and brand. We’re looking for someone with 3+ years of demonstrated professional video experience to help execute on numerous video projects over a 6-month window.Over the six-month window, the videographer will be embed with our Communications team, working from our Nairobi office with travel to rural Kenya and around East Africa for shoots.     The Brand Strategist will lead One Acre Fund’s efforts to build our brand and maintain the positive reputation that allows us to achieve our goals for farmers. This is not a traditional marketing role, focused on selling a product. This is a unique opportunity to position a fast-growing organization in six diverse markets across Africa. You’ll define what makes us unique and communicate it to the world.
    It’s an ideal role for someone who loves drawing insights from data and using them to direct world-class creative. You’ll work closely with our in-house teams (digital, media, creative, and culture) to develop audience insights, craft key messages, and design integrated marketing campaigns. You’ll advise senior leaders and deliver data showing that our brand reputation supports our core business objectives.

    Digital Distribution and Analytics
    You’ll design sophisticated distribution and measurement strategies that put us at the forefront of digital in East Africa. Our audiences are increasingly online, but digital access and preferences vary by country. Working with a direct report and vendors, you’ll design digital outreach strategies for each market.

    Develop strategies for digital distribution in each market across paid, owned, and earned media
    Define goals for digital campaigns and provide hands-on guidance to direct report for analysis
    Propose budget and scope for partnerships with vendors (ads, search, website) and digital tools
    Report regularly on key brand performance indicators and marketing ROI to senior leadership

    Management
    You’re a strong manager and team player. You’ll report to the Global Communications Director, manage one direct report executing digital marketing, and lead productive collaboration with colleagues handling media, writing, design, photo/video, culture and internal communications.

    Manage one direct report who executes digital marketing and coordinates external vendors
    Mentor staff on partner teams (recruitment, fundraising, field operations) on marketing

    Founded in 2006, One Acre Fund supplies smallholder farmers with the agricultural services they need to make their farms vastly more productive. We provide quality farm supplies on credit, delivered within walking distance of farmers’ homes, and agricultural trainings to improve harvests. We measure our success by our ability to make farmers more prosperous: On average, farmers harvest 50 percent more food after working with One Acre Fund.
    We are growing quickly. We currently serve more than 800,000 farm families in Eastern and Southern Africa, with more than 7,500 full-time staff, and we aim to serve 1 million farm families by 2020.

    Some initial projects the People Innovations Associate will work on include:

    Standardized pay grade definitions: Work closely with department heads to ensure pay grade definitions clearly articulate the scope and responsibilities of roles at each level. Work with leadership to create plans for introducing the updated definitions to their teams.

    People support hub: Create a People support hub for all staff which links to all HR, Training, and Corporate Operations policies, tools, and documents.

    Onboarding review: Review how new staff are onboarded in Kenya. Create a more robust onboarding to ensure all new staff: 1. have clarity on OAF’s approach to career growth and professional development, 2. know how to access key project and management tools, and 3. are able to effectively contribute to OAF’s shared vision of culture.

    Build career clarity across the Kenya program: The People Division will play an important role to ensure there is career clarity for all staff, at all levels. For example, this could include rolling-out an updated performance review system, ensuring managers are meeting minimum standards, and implementing strategies for increasing career conversations across the organization.

    Communication

    Proactively and effectively communicate up to country leadership, down to departments, and across to other colleagues.
    Be the key point person for all global D&I and culture initiatives, ensuring a Kenya perspective is included in project scoping as well as initiatives are rolled-out successfully in-country.

    Membership support

    Oversee membership applications, and undertake all aspects of data entry relating to members in accordance with the agreed data for collection requirements.
    Conduct key membership tasks including creating invoices and receipts, processing membership invoices and payments, and keeping membership fee payment tracking files up to date.
