    Purpose of Internship
    The internship will provide an opportunity for professional training through support to the team based on the activities:

    Respond to user requests for service, troubleshoot problems, and help develop solutions;
    Support with troubleshooting PC hardware components, desktop operating system software, and application software;
    Work with the accredited service centers in repairs to equipment and arrange for other servicing needs;
    Identify and report system issues to vendors, monitor and test resolution issues sent to vendors;
    Monitor antivirus software and updates, report computers infected with spyware, adware and/or viruses;
    Monitor backup systems and procedures to ensure data security;
    Maintain a log of service requests, solutions and other responses;
    Assist in maintaining inventory records and documentation for equipment;
    Participate in user training for basic hardware and software used within Mercy Corps environment;
    Provide backup technical support for the network, including router, firewall, and wireless access points;
    Maintain open communication and positive working relationship with staff;
    Perform other duties/projects as assigned.

    Learning Objectives
    After this internship, the intern will:

    Gain hands-on experience in a wide range of IT functions including but not limited to IT support, IT Systems administration, networking and solutions design and development
    Gain experience in working in a multicultural environment with diverse activities
    Gain experience in working in an international humanitarian organization

    Deliverables

    Ability to attend to basic user support queries with minimal supervision;
    Demonstration of participation in applications development and implementation;
    Ability to create technical and end-user documentation;
    Ability to monitor endpoints and ensure they are compliant with Mercy Corps set minimum requirements;
    Ability to generate reports on fault summary, trend analysis reports, weekly, and identify a possible trend.

    Knowledge and Experience

     Essential Job Responsibilities

    Operate Mercy Corps vehicles as assigned by supervisor.
    Maintain vehicle log-sheets in accordance with Mercy Corps policies/regulations.

    Adhere to all safety and communication protocols as advised by Mercy Corps and supervisor.

    General Position Summary
    The DCOP / Technical Director is a key member of the Scaling Inclusive Food Systems senior management team and is responsible for leading the strategic intervention of program activities. They are responsible for the design, management and implementation of the program, including ensuring effective operations. The DCOP / Technical Director will work closely with the Chief of Party to drive the program’s strategic approach and ensure strong technical models are translated into high quality operational plans and interventions.     Essential Job Responsibilities
    STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP

    Works closely with the Chief of Party (CoP) to develop and guide overall strategic and technical vision and drive the program’s innovative, evidence-based, adaptation approach.
    Ensure program vision, implementation modalities, and operational mechanisms are consistently communicated and internalized by all program team members, partners and stakeholders; facilitate by-in across partners and stakeholders.

Ensure that the program work plan consistently is adaptive to learning and contextual changes.
    Adapts and develops context and program-specific guidance, tools and training to advance the integration of resilience-thinking and evidence to impact into program systems.
    Leads the continuous review and adaptation of detailed implementation plans, flowing from annual workplan development, and supports the delivery of the same.
    Ensure adaptive management, learning and reflective practices against work plans are adopted across the implementation team and facilitate improved decision-making.
    Inform program systems to ensure the intervention is generating relevant information that is being used for ongoing learning, program analysis and decision-making while also capturing results at the output and impact level.
    Inform and actively participate in pause and reflect sessions, sense-making workshops and ongoing program adaptations; ensure program data is used for learning and decision making.

    STRATEGY AND VISON

    Set a clear vision for the GIRL program and its associated structure to enable impactful

    Working with country PMs, ensure the GIRL programming reflects Mercy Corps’ signature
    technical approaches, including meaningful youth engagement, resilience, and gender equality outcomes.
    Work closely with the Research and Learning Lead to drive a cutting-edge research and
    learning agenda to inform program strategy, generate evidence of programmatic impact, inform program adaptation and learning and promote internal and external learning, using appropriate procedures and tools for data collection and analysis across countries.
    Develop a resource mobilization strategy to expand the GIRL programming portfolio within the targeted countries and the region and lead representation, donor outreach and new business development efforts to leverage additional funding for the GIRL program.

    Provide strategic leadership and oversight of Mercy Corps’ GIRL programming, working closely

    Case Management for Nutrition Resilience (CMNR) Program Manager

    General Position Summary
    Working across all program areas, and in close collaboration with the Program Quality and Reporting, M&E, Strategic Learning and Research Teams, the CMNR Program Manager will oversee the design, operationalization, and quality assurance of the CMNR process. The CMNR Program Manager will focus on adapting and strengthening the Nawiri Case Management approach using standardized interventions and tools for assessment, identification, case plan development, service provision and/or referral, monitoring, and follow – up of acutely malnourished (including relapsed) and ‘at risk’  children and other nutritionally vulnerable groups in the Nawiri program. The position will work closely with the Nawiri technical leads and County Field Directors, Sub – Office Field Coordinators, and implementation coordinators to ensure that critical information and learning generated through the case management system influences system strengthening efforts and is used to link program participants to complementary interventions and services facilitated by Nawiri, government, and other stakeholders. S/he will be responsible for providing technical guidance to strengthen multi – directional linkages and referral mechanisms between nutrition specific and nutrition sensitive interventions to enhance sequencing, layering and integration of multi – sectoral interventions and eventual reduction of incidence and prevalence of acute malnutrition. These will include identification of successful referral models within Kenya, developing and providing training in relevant guidance, delivery mechanisms, and promising practices.
    Roles and Key Responsibilities:

    Provide technical leadership and guidance in the planning, assessment, and implementation of activities to strengthen case management for nutrition resilience, including improving multi -directional referral mechanisms to nutrition-specific and nutrition – sensitive services within and outside the program
    Lead the roll out and dissemination of updated guidance, standard operating procedures, and relevant job aids to facilitate case management for nutrition resilience at the household and community levels.
    Support the development of a multi-dimensional household case plan tool and process guide based on MC-Nawiri’s ‘Five Pillars of Nutrition Resilience’.
    Work closely with the M&E and Strategic Learning Teams to develop and lead the implementation of an adaptive learning plan for CMNR that will ensure gaps and opportunities are swiftly identified and used to continuously refine and contextualise CMNR strategy and implementation.
    Assess the existing case management processes and referral networks; ensure engagement of the county government teams in planning, and all steps of the CMNR processes.
    Work closely with the relevant County technical working groups for the coordination, networking, linkages, and communication among multi-sector actors in supporting case management for nutrition resilience.
    In coordination with technical leads, oversee development and implementation of strategies, approaches, and tools aligned to relevant national and County policies to strengthen case management for nutrition resilience among the relevant nutrition specific and nutrition sensitive stakeholders.
    Work closely with Nawiri technical leads, program field staff and stakeholders to build and strengthen collective capacity to implement, inform learning, and adapt CMNR approach including building capacity of frontline field staff.
    Identify, document, and share promising practices and lessons learned to inform capacity strengthening activities for frontline staff and stakeholders and program quality.
    Oversee quality improvement initiatives and learning exchanges related to CMNR with GOK and other relevant stakeholders.
    Develop scopes of work and oversee consultancies and short-term technical assistance as needed in relation to CMNR.
    Provide timely inputs to Nawiri weekly, quarterly, annual planning, monitoring, reporting, and budgeting processes.
    Promote a culture of accountability and learning through regular monitoring and learning visits; documentation of project results and impacts including media stories, promising practices, lessons learned and case studies among others.

    ORGANIZATIONAL LEARNING

    Basic Qualifications:

    Minimum seven years’ experience in a project management role in relation to integrated management of acute malnutrition and/or nutrition or public health programming, including expertise in case management system and referral network design, assessment, implementation, monitoring and evaluation; familiarity with SMART survey, IMAM/ Health surge model and use of organizational network analysis in relation to referral networks a plus.
    Experience implementing IMAM protocols and multi – sectoral nutrition projects.
    Demonstrated ability to develop and test user-friendly guidance, tools and standard operating procedures for use at the health facility and community levels, and the ability to provide training, technical assistance and mentorship on their use.
    Experience working in both healthcare and community settings.
    Demonstrated ability to design and conduct training and mentorship programs for multi – disciplinary teams, CHVs and other community resource persons.
    Knowledge of GOK and USAID programming, process, guidance, and frameworks is strongly preferred.
    Experience in conducting data collection, data analysis and quality audits preferred.

    This scope of work sets the generic terms of reference for the consultant(s) for AgriFin Digital Farmer (ADF II) Kenya/Tanzania/Uganda implementation. Specific task orders shall be issued to the consultant(s) with specific deliverables on a need basis over the period of the master agreement, that is, 2 years. The time required to complete the task orders shall be agreed upon case by case, but the daily fee shall remain fixed over the period of the master agreement. Under the direction of the ADF II technical teams, the task orders issued to the consultant(s) shall generally cover the below activities:
    Partner Engagement and Financial Services Support

    Support strong partner relationships, project plans, and product roadmaps.
    Assist and in some cases lead the development of partner business and work plans, reviewing research, marketing plans, business processes, operational manuals, product and technology specifications, and financial statements to do so.
    Perform tasks based on project plans, those agreed with ADF II management, and those assigned by program management.
    Monitor project progress, with regular oversight of technical consultants or third-party providers, report and resolve, or assist in resolving issues, under the direction of ADF II management.
    Prepare project progress reports and status updates.
    Conduct due diligence on prospective partners, compile required legal documents, and share reports on the same.
    Keep up to date with the respective countries’ agri/fintech ecosystems and participate in ongoing learning meetings with program stakeholders related to program focus areas, working in coordination with technical team managers.
    Assist the program in identifying technical consultants as needed, preparing terms of reference and scopes of work, and providing support and oversight for consultants as required.
    Contribute to the ADF II learning agenda and track partner impact metrics as and when required.

    This project implementation shall be fully consultative with key stakeholders and all learning outputs will be developed in close coordination with ADF II and related partners to ensure recommendations and final learning outputs remain strategically aligned with the program strategy.
    Deliverables and Timelines:
    Specific deliverables shall be detailed on specific task orders based on the SOW.
    Required Qualifications:

    Master’s degree in Finance, Technology, business, engineering, economics, or a relevant field.
    Work experience in providing advisory services for multi-year international Agricultural and financial sector development projects.
    Proven expertise in proposal writing.
    Demonstrated strong management, coordination, teamwork, and planning skills.
    Familiarity with Mercy Corps systems is a plus.
    Strong analytical and technical skills.
    Excellent communication skills (written interpersonal and presentation skills in English and a proven ability to establish and maintain professional relationships.
    Ability to offer coaching, mentorship, and development of technical capacity.
    Local country geographical knowledge and existing business relationships with financial sector organizations in Uganda and Tanzania is a plus.

    Security

    Girls Improving Resilience through Livelihoods and Health (GIRL-H) is a three-year, 10-million-dollar program implemented in Kenya, Uganda, Haiti and Nigeria and seeks to improve the well-being of adolescent and young people by increasing their access to skills and knowledge, health resources, formal education and economic opportunities. GIRL-H also fosters an enabling environment by working with communities to transform unhealthy social norms and create opportunities for girls and boys to access education and economic opportunity. Key to GIRL-H is a robust learning and research agenda that reaches across three countries to contribute to the evidence base on what works to secure access to opportunities for adolescent girls within the most marginalized communities and to better understand their contribution to household resilience. This evidence and learning will be shared to elevate Mercy Corps’ influence in the adolescent girl space and to bolster fundraising efforts to scale the model. The GIRL-H
    Program Manager will coordinate and support the successful implementation of the GIRL-H program across the target countries, driving innovation and learning to refine a replicable and evidence-based GIRL-H programming model, and will play a critical role in leading regional and global expansion efforts for Mercy Corps’ adolescent girl programming.

    General Position Summary

    The Program Manager is responsible for supporting the country offices implementation of the GIRL-H program, including ensuring that project activities result in positive outcomes for male and female participants of different age groups.
    S/he will have the responsibility for program start-up and implementing, while building team members’ and partners’ capacity to integrate a gender and youth perspective into project activities.
    The Program Manager will support country Program Managers to ensure the effective and timely execution of all activities within this program, including social capital and life skills, linkages to formal, informal, and technical education, promotion of the enabling environment for young girls.
    The Program Manager will be responsible for ensuring the integration of Safe Spaces into relevant programs. He/She is responsible for overseeing the implementation of training modules and the management of the Mercy Corps GIRL-H Safe Space activities for adolescent girls and boys, within relevant programs, including the GIRL-H program.

     Essential Responsibilities

    STRATEGY AND VISION

    Develop a clear vision for the program, as well as a clear and effective strategy for program implementation and evaluation and ensure that the vision and mission are aligned with contextual realities.

    7-9 years’ experience in gender and youth development work including experience developing and conducting gender training, gender/youth mainstreaming and engaging in gender advocacy.
    Experience in implementing adolescent and young people programs
    Demonstrated ability to implement a program, manage a team and develop their capacities.
    Demonstrated capacity to lead the collection, analysis and utilization of information from a broad range of sources to ensure effective integration of gender and youth concerns throughout the project’s duration. In-depth understanding of gender, age and other socio- cultural factors in the context of food security programming.
