    Primary purpose:
    The Community Mobilizer/Project Assistant among other duties will be responsible for ensuring smooth implementation of FCA education activities in their respective counties that ensures full integration and community participation.
    Tasks and duties:

    Liaise with the Education Coordinator to enhance access for out of school children to enroll In the primary schools and rescue girls subjected to FGM, early marriages and other forms of abuse **
    Facilitate Empowerment of girls, boys and women in the focus sub-counties by building their capacity to raise their voices to oppose harmful practices, and ultimately contribute to breaking the intergenerational cycle of poverty and discrimination.
    Undertake community engagements, mobilization and sensitization in the various forums
    Educate community members on the importance of education and encourage them to enroll their children to the public schools.
    Represent FCA in the education coordination meeting and other stakeholders meeting within the sub-county
    Support and closely monitor in collaboration with Head teachers on digital attendance of learners in the FCA targeted schools within the county.
    Support in the coordination of joint monitoring visits between the donor, MOE and FCA Nairobi team by contributing to evaluation planning, support data collection, analysis and interpretation
    Ensure synergies and collaboration with key stakeholders including MOE,TSC,ECDE County director
    Ensure timely submission of quality reports (Weekly ,Bi-weekly and Monthly)in line with FCA grant reporting guidelines and the donor expectations
    Actively participate in the identification, documentation and dissemination of promising practices and success stories of OOSC in the target project areas.
    Together with the Education coordinator set weekly, monthly and termly targets for enrolment and attendance of new learners.
    Assist the Education Coordinator with planning and implementation of project activities.
    Perform any other related duties as assigned from time to time.
    Attend Monthly county education coordination meeting/forums while giving comprehensive update on FCA Project.
    Submit monthly SITREP to the education Coordinator.

    Qualifications:

    A Diploma in either community development education, guidance and counselling, educational administration and supervision, or a related field Working experience in remote communities with marginalized populations
    Administration/supervision of special education programs or student enrollment, youth development and school safety programs.(Experience in increasing primary school enrolment is a must)
    Demonstrated expertise in community mobilization, capacity to engage community and all levels of education stakeholders to promote right to and access to quality education
    2 – 3 years’ experience supporting professional development of Kenyan teachers; including experience in teacher training programs
    Strong data collection both manual and digital data collection methods, analysis and report writing skills
    Good understanding of cross cutting issues such as gender, HIV and AIDS and climate change
    Excellent interpersonal, communication and report writing skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams.

    Primary purpose:
    The County Education Coordinators among other duties will be responsible for ensuring smooth implementation of FCA education activities in their respective Counties that ensures full integration and community participation.
    Tasks and duties:

    Build a working relationship at the county level with all the education stakeholders including the committee that will provide technical oversight of the project from the Ministry of Education and UNICEF.
    Represent Finn Church Aid (FCA) at education county level forums.
    Ensure close collaboration with partners designated to implement other components of the education project.
    Provide child protection to OOSC who have been enrolled to school. These services include psychosocial support, rescue and alternative family care for enrolled children in need of care & protection liaising with the county directorate of children services.
    Work closely with the County Directors of Education(CDE) & Protection and Sub County Education/Children Officers as s/he implement the project activities. This will require building and sustaining effective close working partnerships with sub-county government counterparts through active sharing of information and knowledge to facilitate programme implementation
    Build capacity of stakeholders to achieve and sustain results of the OOSC education project in the county
    Provide overall leadership, and oversee the implementation of the project in the target county.
    Develop and maintain detailed implementation plans including annual and quarterly work plans for the project.
    Ensure the timely and efficient implementation of the UNICEF education project
    Ensure that program activities are implemented as planned and within the approved budget.
    Participate in proposal development processes, in particular liaising with Education Specialist and programme staff to ensure that advocacy approaches are integrated within and contribute to the achievement of project results and objectives and that sufficient fund are budgeted for implementation.
    Monitor monthly expenditure and track project budgets to ensure that spending on the program is in line with the approved budgets.
    Attend Monthly County education coordination meeting/forums while giving comprehensive update on FCA Project.
    Submit monthly SITREP to the education specialist, Programme manager and Country Director.

    Qualifications:

    A Higher Degree in Education is the preferred qualification. A Social Science Degree in a related discipline would also be considered.
    Proven training in curriculum development and implementation, and educational administration.
    Proven academic or on-job training and understanding of the Project Cycle model in managing humanitarian assistance.
    3 -5 years of progressive experience in primary education programs for refugees or rural communities.
    Experience gained within an international humanitarian NGO will be an added advantage.
    Strong analytical, administration and documentation skills in the management of educational institutions or programs consisting of primary education.
    Experience in proposal and report writing and excellent computer skills.
    Experience in Training of Trainers/Facilitators skills (TOT & TOF) an advantage.

    Key roles

    Digital assessment development – develop and produce all digital assets needed for the campaigns – infographics, gifs, carousel posts, and text graphics for engaging the target market, develop a creative testing plan, manage all aspects of the paid media campaign.
    Organize and manage a high-quality events, activity, and communication programme to engage donors and potential supporters.

    This position requires someone with proven background on local fundraising.
    Raise awareness amongst the populations about the work of FCA Kenya and its dedication to supporting families in vulnerable situation across the country.

    Qualifications and Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in PR, Marketing, Fundraising or related field (Preferably a master’s degree).

    Primary purpose:
    The purpose of this position is to support Finn Church Aid (FCA) to roll out a six months multi-purpose, unconditional cash assistance to help drought affected people/ households meet their basic needs. The position is open for humanitarian professionals who are available for immediate deployment. Cash transfer refers to a mechanism of providing cash as a resource to crisis (drought) affected population to enable them purchase basic needs and/or protect, strengthen or restore their livelihoods.
    Tasks and duties:

    Engage and sensitize stakeholders on the project objectives.
    Develop selection criteria for targeting of beneficiaries in a participatory approach
    Conduct rapid needs assessment, community mobilization, registration and verification/validation of the most vulnerable Households affected by drought
    Ensure that project planned activities are implemented in full compliance with FCA and donor standards and guidelines;
    Provide technical support during the implementation of the project activities.
    Work closely with technical sectors (NDMA, Ministry of Interior, CSG and other agencies) in the targeted Sub-counties for effective planning, coordination and implementation of the project to avoid duplication.
    Represent FCA in the CSG and other County Coordination meetings and Technical working groups.
    Cultivate and manage relationships with project stakeholders.
    Liaise with the finance team in budget implementation for the Project.
    Ensure the project is implemented in accordance to the approved budgets
    Work closely with Finance Department to track financial transactions from FCA to service providers and beneficiaries and put in place reconciliation systems.
    Utilize existing structures such as relief committees to establish CRM/complaints help desk in the target location
    Training of CRM/help desk members on accountability, PSEA principles etc. in the target location
    Set up monitoring, accountability systems to review and address findings and recommendations on monthly basis.
    Document lessons and share best practices to different stakeholders.
    Conduct cash distribution and post-distribution monitoring
    Ensure regular project activity reports are generated and shared internally.
    Ensure internal control systems are in placed to identify and manage potential risks associated with unconditional cash transfer.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor degree in the fields of: Social Science, Development studies, or related field.
    At least three years of experience in Cash Based Programming including conducting Cash Feasibility Assessment, Market Assessment, Designing and implementing of cash based projects.
    Previous experience in cash & food assistance in fragile context will be an added advantage
    Experience in engaging with donors, private sector players, government agencies, INGOs among others
    Strong evidence of good interpersonal and communication skills

    Reports to: Project Coordinator
    Primary Purpose
    To effectively implement FCA Education Programme activities in Kakuma/Kalobeyei. He/she will ensure quality delivery of programmes and maintenance of high professional standards of the BPRM funded Education Project. The Project Manager will be responsible for implementation, monitoring and reporting on all the project activities.
    MAIN TASKS:
    KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

    Program Planning:

    Under the direction and guidance of the Project Coordinator, coordinate plans for the implementation of the project activities in all target school communities.
    Work with the Project Coordinator and other education team members and partner organizations to develop project implementation and procurement plans.
    Work with the Project Coordinator and the MEAL Team to prepare and/or revise project monitoring tools to track indicators and monitor achievement of objectives and impact of the program.
    In collaboration with the Project Coordinator, prepare plans for capacity building and training of school managements on various trainings needs.
    Prepare plans for regular field monitoring visits together with Project Coordinator and other Education staff.

    Program Implementation:

    Ensure that project activities are implemented in accordance with the approved work plans and with the involvement of partners and concerned stakeholders at all levels.
    Ensure project activities are implemented in the most efficient, effective and sustainable manner.
    Assist the Project Coordinator in the development and implementation of a modality of strengthening and improving management of schools committees and pupils through community mobilization and improvement of training materials and programs.
    Ensure effective and efficient distribution of textbooks and other instructional materials to target schools.
    Conduct regular data collection using existing tools in order to track project performance on indicators and measure overall impact and for donor reporting purposes and make recommendations on the improvement of these tools.
    Ensure that good practices and lessons are documented and shared with the MEAL team and the education team for replication and wider dissemination .
    Travel to all project sites to conduct regular monitoring of projects quality together with other project team members.
    Conduct and lead baseline, mid and end line survey of the project and generate evaluation report.
    Compose and compile project success and impact stories to be shared and annex on quarterly report.
    In coordination and liaison with project coordinator contribute to proposal development and growth of area base thematic.

    Reporting, Monitoring & Evaluation:

    Ensure that field based monitoring data and information is collated regularly and made available to Project Coordinator and the MEAL Team for reporting and monitoring purposes
    In collaboration with the MEAL Team, focus on project data collection to generate practical information that can be used for ongoing program decision-making while also capturing results at the impact level
    Assist the Project Coordinator in preparation of periodic progress reports in a timely manner for both internal and external use

    Program Support Operations:

    Coordinate with other departments to ensure operational systems are in place to support field activities including logistics (transport, warehousing and asset management), procurement, security and administration .
    Coordinate with other FCA programs/sectors to ensure integration and that the projects runs smoothly and efficiently and draws from best experiences and lessons for improved programming.

    Qualifications and experience

    Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Education/ Social sciences or its equivalent.
    Minimum of three (3) years’ work experience in education sector especially in refugee setting.
    Knowledge of education in emergencies, education sector policy, child rights and protection issues.
    Experiences of facilitating community-based training, capacity building school managements, and awareness campaigns.
    Strong self-starter, able to take initiative and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.

    Undertake Routine/frequent financial monitoring visits to the field offices to ensure quality is maintained in all aspects of financial management and adherence to FCA/Donor requirements and that all project activities/expenditures are accounted for and are allowable.
    Reviewing of transaction posted in Quick Books at the CO for accuracy and completeness.
    Budgeting and other financial planning in coordination with the CD and Project Manager.
    Financial Reporting to HO and Donors.
    Take lead in Human Resources Management at the CO and Field offices.
    General lead in administration, logistics and procurement processes by ensuring manuals and policies are followed at all levels.
    Take lead in Capacity building of staff at CO and Field offices finance and administration policies and procedures.
    Take lead in CO internal and external Audits.
    Oversee preparation of monthly payroll and undertake monthly closing procedures including reviewing of bank, petty cash and advances reconciliations.
    Reviewing and approval of payments/documents (both bank and cash).
    Provide timely and appropriate financial information to budget holders/HO and timely requisition of funds for projects from Donors/HO.
    Liaise with other Country offices/HO for interoffice expenses.
    Management of information/filing of documents in CO/HO shared drives (O – drive).
    Other tasks as may be assigned by the CD position upon mutual consultation.
    Ensure donor compliance in all FCA financial reports.
    Maintain and nurture donor relations including timely response to Global Grants arising questions.

    Qualifications

    The applicant must hold a University degree or equivalent (e.g. CPA (K)/ACCA/etc.) in accounting, finance, Business Administration, donor relations or other closely related field;
    Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Finance Manager/Director in a development or humanitarian organization;
    High integrity, self-driven and able to set own work schedule with rigorous deadlines;
    Ability to initiate and complete assignments and to work under demanding circumstances with minimal supervision;
    Strong organization, supervisory, problem-solving, interpersonal, communication as well as team building and negotiation skills;
    Specific familiarity with reporting to UNHCR, UNICEF, ECHO, BPRM, USAID and EC;
    Excellent analytical skills and attention to details;
    Proven commitment to accountability practices;
    Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work with limited supervision;
    Excellent knowledge on both software (MS-Excel and Quick books);
    Good management, communication, teamwork and capacity building of other staff;
    Ability to work independently when necessary, set realistic goals, and work within agreed timelines;
    Ability to work well with people from diverse cultures and communicate effectively to donors and other staff in the unit;
