    Duties and responsibilities

    Actively promoting awareness of the importance of girls’ education at every opportunity by liaising with all local stakeholders.
    Conduct regular data collection using existing tools in order to track project performance on indicators and measure overall impact and for donor reporting purposes and make recommendations on the improvement of these tools.
    Ensure that good practices and lessons are documented and shared with the MEAL team and the education team for replication and wider dissemination.
    Travel to all project sites to conduct regular monitoring of projects quality together with other project team members.
    In collaboration with the MEAL Team, focus on project data collection to generate practical information that can be used for ongoing program decision-making while also capturing results at the impact level.
    Coordinate with other departments to ensure operational systems are in place to support field activities including logistics (transport, warehousing and asset management), procurement, security and administration.
    Monitoring girls’ enrolment, retention and achievement rates by collecting relevant, gender-segregated data; identifying specific constraints to girls’ attendance at school.

    Required Qualifications and Competencies:

    Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Education/ Social sciences or its equivalent.
    Minimum of three (3) years’ work experience in education sector especially in refugee setting.
    Knowledge of education in emergencies, education sector policy, child rights and protection issues.
    Experiences of facilitating community-based training, capacity building school managements, and awareness campaigns.
    Strong self-starter, able to take initiative and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
    Positive attitude towards community work with emphasis on the ability to learn from communities and support participatory, innovative approaches to problem solving.
    Excellent communication skills and a willingness to be respectful, kind, sensitive and empathise with all children and their careers.

    PRIMARY PURPOSE:

    Under the overall supervision of the Program Coordinator, the incumbent will be responsible for providing daily technical support and troubleshooting of all computer systems, tablets, phones and other peripherals with consideration to their needs and requirements.

    CORE FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES

    Ensure all office IT infrastructure is in good working order by both working with external IT and through your own monitoring and maintenance. This includes Laptop computers, desktops, Phone systems, Power Backup Systems, Printing, Internet connections, Local area networks and software used in the program.
    Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of education technology in FCA.
    Work with FCA staff and administrators to identify and implement education technology solutions for instructional and administrative needs.
    Keep an up-to-date inventory of FCA tablets used by teachers. Make sure all user workstations are in good working condition and configured correctly.
    IT Support: Provide application assistance to users that need help in different Microsoft Office apps including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

    Ensure data and system integrity by setting up and administrating ICT security systems: anti-virus, backup routines, access controls, firewall and physical security.

    ESSENTIAL EDUCATION

    At least 2 years of experience providing information communications technology (ICT) and administrative support in a development context.
    Experience working with INGOs or other international donor-funded programs a plus.

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    Conduct participatory hygiene promotion sessions within communities, groups of persons with specific needs, according to age, gender and diversity, community-based committees and other groups, such as duty bearers and stakeholders.
    Prepare work plan, provide weekly updates and monthly progress reports and other reports.
    Initiate procurement to ensure adequate supplies for hygiene and sanitation promotion activities.
    Coordinate with other Implementing Partners (IPs) in harmonizing hygiene promotion/education interventions – plan and celebrate world event days (Global handwashing day , MHM day , World Water Day, World Toilet Day etc) and raise awareness of the school community through celebration of event days .
    Document and share lessons learned and success stories in relation to hygiene to inform future programming.
    Any additional responsibility as requested by his/her supervisor.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in Environmental/Public Health/Education/Social Science or equivalent training/experience in related technical field.
    Minimum of three (3) years’ practical work experience working with vulnerable communities in the field of, WASH, mentorship, hygiene or public health and experience in behavior change activities.
    Familiarity with key health and hygiene promotion/education/mentorship activities.
    Experience of training design, delivery, facilitation, mentoring and building the capacity of communities and partners is desirable.
    Experience in organizing campaigns on key hygiene themes – Preferable Previous experience of implementing institutional (schools & health facilities) hygiene promotions/educations.
    Knowledge of participatory approaches hygiene promotion and sanitation methods (e.g. PHAST, CLTS/H, CHC, CHAST) be an added advantage.

    Primary purpose:
    The Project Coordinator is reponsible for county-level coordination and implementation of FCA Peace activities in the counties of Baringo, Elgeyo Marakwet and West Pokot. The primary purpose is to work with relevant authorities and informal peace structures to support in inclusive peace building efforts.
    Tasks and duties:

    Coordinate the overall implementation of peace project activities in FCA target counties including the planning, budgeting, implementing, monitoring and reporting (internal and external) of those activities
    Coordinate communications and meetings relevant to the peace project
    Coordinate with local partners and key stakeholders on programmatic, financial, procurement and logistical issues for the peace building project
    Maintain good relations and communication with project stakeholders
    Ensure meaningful participation of women in peace processes
    Preparing work plans and produce timely reports – financial and progress reports – as required by FCA and donor/lead-partner reporting systems
    Promotes identification and synthesis of best practices and lessons learned for organizational sharing and learning.

    Qualifications:

    Web Design Trainer

    Position Summary: 
    FCA is training 150 youth in professional Creative industry-skills during May to October 2022. Training will take place in Eastlands, Nairobi. We are looking for a web design trainer to design and conduct basic level graphic design training in three 5 Week periods. The trainer will cooperate closely with team of other trainers and monitor and evaluate student´s progress.
    KEY RESULT AREAS

    Prepare schemes of work, lesson notes and appropriate teaching Aids to ensure effective teaching and learning.
    To conduct regular assessment and evaluation for both Practical and written sessions for training gaps identification.
    Conduct regular counselling and guidance of the Trainees and make referrals where need be.

    Qualifications and Experience

    Advanced web design-skills and professional experience, entrepreneurship/ freelancing experience is a plus.
    Degree´s and certificates in web design or another relevant field is a plus
    Training experience and experience of working with youth required
    Resourcefulness and creativity to solve logistical challenges and problems
    Language proficiency: fluent English and Swahili languages
    Good with web 2.0 tools (blogs, social media platforms and productivity tools)
    Possess thorough knowledge about digital safety
    Learning oriented mindset
    Ability to engage with participants and convey knowledge
    Ability to explain complex technology in simple terms.
    Qualification in Pedagogical skills or experience in teaching/training.

    Personal Attributes:

    High integrity, self-driven and able to set own work schedule with rigorous deadlines.
    Ability to initiate and complete assignments and to work under demanding circumstances with minimal supervision.
    Strong organization, supervisory, problem-solving, interpersonal, communication as well as team building and negotiation skills.
    Uphold and protect the Trainees from any form of Child abuse/ Violation of Rights.
    Design a strategic remedial Training plan for slow learners
    Prepare a conducive learning environment for the Trainees.
    Perform any other duty as may be assigned from Time to Time by the supervisor
