    Job Summary:
    The incumbent will be responsible for providing technical leadership, guidance, coordinate trainings and capacity building to the MoH (Ministry of Health) staff in Saku.     Main Duties & Responsibilities:

    Programme Management and Development:

    Training and mentoring

    Provide technical support to MoH through structured capacity building initiatives on delivery of health and nutrition interventions at health facilities and community level;
    Ensure delivery of quality results through active participation in regular M&E activities: facility in-charges meetings, CHVs and skilled health workers review meetings, joint support supervision.
    Orientate and mentor the Sub county Health Management Teams (SCHMTs) and facility-based service providers on existing data capture and summary tools for nutrition and HINI services in line with the District Health Information Systems (DHIS)

    Monitoring and Reporting

    Prepare high quality written reports for Concern and donors (quarterly and annual) and other reports as required.
    Assisting with nutrition programme reviews and evaluations
    Monitor the nutrition situation and advice the Health and Nutrition senior program manager on appropriate actions and changes as may be necessary and document all lessons learnt.
    Working closely with the Surveillance Officer in organizing, coordinating and leading nutrition assessments and surveillance as required.
    Monitor the programme against objectives outlined in the programme plan.
    Conduct field visits to support field teams on effective and quality program implementation.

    Representation

    Attend and adequately represent health and nutrition program in County and Sub county meetings.
    Representing Concern in and liaising with coordinating bodies and partners as required – MoH and other government authorities, UNICEF, WFP, OFDA and other relating NGOs.
    Maintain good working relationships and co-ordination with other health partners.

    Job Specification:

    A degree in nursing, food, nutrition and dietetics or relevant field

    Job Summary:
    Overall strategic management of Somalia nutrition and health programme, including emergency preparedness and response.
    To manage and coordinate the design, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and technical support of Concern’s nutrition and health interventions in South-Central Somalia, including the effective scale-up of Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition including IYCF; and MCH services. The post holder will also be responsible for representing Concern and coordinating with key stakeholders in nutrition and health clusters at all levels. To lead in formulation of the country health and nutrition program strategies and participate in drafting of the national policies in the health and nutrition sector.
    Main Duties &
    Responsibilities:
    Programme Development and Management:
    Participate and contribute to senior management team meetings and decision making process.
    Contribute and support to the development and roll out of the Country Strategic Plan.
    Contribute to the compilation of the Country Programme’s Monthly and Annual Reports.
    Manage and technically support the implementation of Concern’s health and nutrition programme and strengthen focus on the preventive aspects while maintaining quality treatment of SAM, MAM; and management of endemic and epidemic-prone communicable diseases in Somalia.
    Lead in development of timely and quality H&N project concept notes, proposals and budgets as needed, including building on lessons learned from past programmes.
    Effective management of nutrition and medical supplies to ensure there is no stock outs and minimal disruption of service delivery by maintaining continuous liaison with logistics and other relevant staff.
    Work closely with Finance to ensure proper management of donor budgets including DFID SNS, SNS+ and REFANI Consortia; ECHO; Irish Aid; and Concern’s own General Donations and any other funding that may be secured in the future.     Assist in the capacity building of relevant health authorities in the country and Concern’s local implementation partners with a focus on the management and supervision of facility-based CMAM and MCH services and community based health interventions.

    Prepare timely and quality reports (both narrative and financial) to fulfil internal (Country, Regional and HQ) and external (Ministry, Donors, Consortium and Cluster) requirements.

    BACKGROUND AND CONTEXT
    The City of Nairobi exemplifies rapid urbanization amidst deteriorating economic and health conditions. More than 60% of urban poor reside in the informal settlements. Urban poverty is characterised by lack of employment, low wages and returns from informal employment, and extremely poor levels of basic services such as housing, sanitation, health care and education. Conditions in the informal settlements create greater exposure to violence (often sexual and gender based), unwanted pregnancies and adverse health and nutrition outcomes, particularly for women and children. To determine the current situation in health and nutrition outcomes, Concern Worldwide is planning to conduct a Health and Nutrition Survey.
    METHODOLOGY/TECHNICAL APPROACH
    The data will be collected through the use of ODK or questionnaire. The survey will apply a three stage cluster sampling where the first stage cluster sampling will be the sampling of blocks from theinformal settlements, the second stage sampling will involve the selection of segments from the sampled blocks and the third stage sampling will be the selection of households from the sampled segments
    DELIVERABLES/OUTPUTS
    a) Quantitative data using the ODK or questionnaires
    b) Qualitative data using the Focus Group Discussions and the Key Informant Interviews
    TIMELINES
    Twelve (12) days of which four (4) days will be for training. The assignment will be in April 2017.
    LOCATION

    RENUMERATION

    Job Summary:
    The incumbent will oversee and provide overall technical leadership to the Health and Nutrition Programme in Tana River County. As Head of Field Office, s/he will coordinate and oversee all Turkana County based Programmes and the Programmes Support Unit
    Main Duties & Responsibilities:

    Health and Nutrition Programmme Management
    Participate in the assessment and selection of appropriate partners for programme implementation;
    Provide organizational and technical support to MoH and local partners in the implementation of High Impact Nutrition Interventions (HINI) and health services;
    Liaising closely with the County health management teams (CHMT) and Hospital Management Teams (HMT) to develop joint work plans and ensure MoH ownership and integration into the existing health systems;
    Work closely with the CHMT to oversee and review the implementation of County work plans and activities
    Support MoH and local partners to strengthen planning, implementation and review of health and nutrition programme activities at the County level
    Work with stakeholders at County level to establish health and nutrition complementary interventions while actively promoting inter sectoral linkages and integration with other programmes as necessary
    Ensure programme quality through active role in M&E of health and nutrition programme interventions including developing and utilizing context specific M&E tools, using data for decision making, field monitoring and joint support supervision
    Monitor the health and nutrition situation in the County including coordination of nutrition surveys, supporting with surveillance and assessments as required
    Contribute to the development of programme strategies and new project proposals
    Develop and implement county level health and nutrition programme budgets, budget revisions, costed work plans among other financial planning tools as required.
    Documentation of the programme process and compiling programme reports including generating lessons learnt and case studies
    Represent Concern at Sub County Health and Nutrition meetings and fora and support advocacy initiatives in line with the programme strategy
    Programme Support and Management/Head of Field Office Duties**
    Manage programme support functions including the day to day running of the Turkana County Concern office(s)
    Monitor programme budget and partner grants and account for expenditure through timely financial reporting
    Provide coordination to all programme activities by channeling communication and resources to all departments at Sub County level
    Represent Concern in relevant meetings and fora at County and Sub County level and supporting advocacy and lobbying initiatives in line with programmes strategy

    Job Specification:

    A bachelor degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or in Health/Nursing with solid experience/background in health and nutrition. A master degree in a related field will be an added advantage.
    At least four years’ experience in health and nutrition program management working on the delivery of High Impact Nutrition Interventions (HINI) and health services; with at least two years’ experience in a supervisory or managerial role
    Solid understanding and experience with integrated program approaches
    Significant experience/knowledge of MoH systems, particularly at County level and working with and through local partners
    Excellent programme planning, monitoring and evaluation, interpersonal and report writing skills
    Fluent in both oral and written English and Kiswahili.
    Proficient in computer applications
    Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and supervise new staff members
    Proactive problem solver and solutions oriented management style
    Although not required, having an understanding of the context, prior experience working and/or living in Turkana is highly desirable

    Reports to: Manager (Moyale) for day to day administrative matters and technically to the Senior Officer Logistics (Marsabit)
    Job Location: Moyale with possibility for deployment to any other office locations in Marsabit County
    Job Summary:
    The driver will drive Concern Worldwide vehicles as directed by the Senior Officer Transport & Logistics or staff managing the field station and to make sure that all the passengers are safe during the journey. He/she is also responsible for reporting any immediate difficulties with the vehicles and arranging for servicing
    Main Duties & Responsibilities:

    Adhere to best practice procedures (Concern fleet SOPs) for operating the fleet with specific attention to pre-driving checks (fuel, lubricants and water), and operating the vehicle in a way to maximize its operating lifespan and to the highest safety & security standards.
    Be able to operate all functions of a 4X4 vehicle and report to the Senior Driver all technical faults in the car by filling a daily and weekly vehicle check list.
    Responsible for making daily recommendations regarding vehicles functionality in relation to health and safety of passengers and goods in the car. To inform the Logistician & field office manager of any incidents immediately.
    Ensure effective service record keeping, that is, update mileage and maintenance records promptly and accurately on the Log Sheets. This includes recording every trip on ODK.
    Maintenance of the radio communication equipment / satellite phone in the car and ensure they function all the time.
    Load and offload items into and from vehicles.
    When transporting goods, the driver is responsible for submitting delivery notes and/or reports and to confirm the status and quantity of goods with the recipient.
    Ensure that he/she carries only authorised passengers or materials.
    Ensure that safety belts are in good working condition and that all passengers including him/her fasten their seat belts before embarking on the journey.
    Adhere to all the country traffic rules, regulations and speed limits
    Ensure the vehicle is clean at all times.
    Liaise as necessary with the base office for security updates and taking necessary measures to minimise exposure to threats. The driver must put the safety of passengers and him/herself first at all times.
    Any other official duties assigned by the line manager.

    Job Specification:

    Minimum O Level Certificate
    Driving license Class BCE and minimum five (5) years’ driving experience. Motor bike riding license is an added advantage
    Relevant basic qualifications or related extensive experience in mechanical fault diagnosis and repairs preferably in Land Cruisers
    A certificate of good conduct
    Three (3) years accident-free experience
    Minimum age: Twenty One (21) years
    Excellent physical and health condition
    A person of high integrity
    Good spoken language in English and Kiswahili. Ability to speak one or more of the local languages an added advantage
    Experience in working in operations in remote locations especially with NGO preferable. Must be familiar with the geographical location of the programme area/Excellent road knowledge
