    Nurse Manager

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    Nursing Staff management: Supervise and take pertinent initiatives to deliver patient centric care from nurses, lead in acquisition of top nursing care talent, develop manpower plans for nursing staff, ensure nursing staff engagement and serve as the highest level of escalation of all nursing care issues.
    Manage Nursing Care: Develop treatment plans for patients, spearhead patient and nursing staff apathy, oversee continuous development initiatives, schedule and plan admission, transfers and discharge of patients. Maintain accurate records of patients
    Administration and Documentation: Ensure that all administration and documentation requirements are initiated and completed in a professional and timely manner by documenting relevant patient care records in accordance to the set guidelines
    Quality/Safety and Risk Management: Actively participate in quality improvement activities and ensure compliance with all standards, safety regulation, hospital policies and procedures
    Customer Service: Foster a culture of clinical excellence that is based on patient centred care, collaboratively working with staff to focus on the quality and safety of services at M.P Shah
    Carry out ward rounds regularly in order to be in touch with patients and check the environment, availability and effective utilisation of resources and monitor quality delivery of service to patients
    Nursing Care Budgetary Control: Ensure optimal use of departmental resources, rollout continuous improvement initiatives for increased efficiency leveraging on existing information by overseeing patient centric management of patients through management, supervision and manpower planning for nursing staff and nursing care budgetary plans
    Learning and Development: Identify continuing education requirements for nursing and health care workers and assist with the development and implementation of the training plan and calendar to ensure that they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge
    Staff Development and Training: Offer mentorship and coaching plans for nursing staff, identify, and develop competence development plans for staff and develop training plans for staff.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Minimum five (8) years nursing experience with three years in a leadership or managerial role
    Bachelor of Science in Nursing or relevant basic degree from a recognized institution
    Higher Diploma in Critical Care Nursing.
    Must be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya
    Certification course on management or leadership
    Licensure with the Nursing council of Kenya

    Clinical Nurse – Theatre

    Duties & Responsibilities: 

    Patient care: Provide holistic patient care, including physical, mental, and social wellbeing 
    Respond to emergencies: Instantly respond to medical emergencies and immediately alert the senior nurse on duty and doctor on duty. 
    Administer Medication: Administer prescribed medicine to patients either orally or parenterally and there offer to monitor patients for side effects. 
    Monitoring of vital signs: Monitor and document vital signs, and hydration status and conduct diagnostic tests. In the case of abnormal findings, seek help from the senior nurses or the doctor on duty. 
    Assist in Surgical operation: Prepare patients for complex procedures and assist doctors during the procedures as prescribed. 
    Waste management: Dispose of clinical and non-clinical waste safely in accordance with MP Shah Hospital IPC Guidelines on waste management. 
    Customer care – Educate patients and family members on treatments and care plans. Answer all of the patient’s and family member’s questions. 
    Liaise with other medical professionals: Work with other medical professionals such as surgeons, physicians, and physiotherapists who are treating the patient, update them on the patient’s status, and receive orders or patient care recommendations. 
    Perform routine procedures: Conduct routine activities such as safety checks, IV insertion urinary catheterization, and changing of wound dressing. 

    Qualifications & Requirements 

    Must be a qualified and Registered Nurse (KRN/KRCHN/BSN). 
    Must have a valid licensure from the Nursing Council of Kenya.

    Project and Cost Accountant

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    Project Accounting and Reporting: Generate and provide insights for decision making around infrastructure projects by preparing and maintaining accurate financial records and reports on all infrastructure and donor funded projects ran by the M.P Shah Hospital. The position holder shall also be responsible for accounting of funds and grants to promote transparency and aid in future fund-raising endeavours that ultimately results in affordable patient care.
    Project Cost Management: Contribute to optimal project costing by coordinating with the accounts payables functions to plan for all payments for efficient liquidity management, financing costs management, budget adherence and to prevent unnecessary project delays that would have cost implications to the M.P Shah Hospital.
    Cost of Care: Directly inform the delivery of affordable care by the M.P Shah Hospital by actively tracking of all input costs (direct and indirect) associated with inpatient and outpatient service delivery within the hospital (including its channels and campuses) and generate insights on potential areas of improvement in the hospital considering observed trends. i.e Business Plans, ROI’s
    Care Packages: Drive affordability and market competitiveness of the care packages offered by the M.P Shah Hospital by periodically collecting and reviewing the feedback from patients, caregivers, payers, and relevant M.P Shah Hospital staff on the structure of existing care packages, with the intention of improving the offerings and remaining competitive in the market. The position holder shall then be responsible for the (re)design and costing of proposed care packages in consultation with relevant stakeholders and in compliance to legal & quality standards for the hospital.
    Protection of the Hospital’s Assets: Contribute to the protection of the Hospital’s asset and brand perception by sharing insights on potential risk areas from the review of the costs of care, project costs and the accounting for funds and grants to the hospital. The position holder shall also comply with set internal controls, risk management protocols in the execution of their functions.
    Developing Self and Others: Drive continuous development of self and colleagues in the organisation by enrolling in career and personal development courses/ programme, actively sharing lessons and insights with the rest of the finance team from personal experiences, and engaging with the line manager regularly for feedback on performance.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or any other related field.
    Professional qualifications form either CPA-K or ACCA.
    A minimum of four years’ experience as a cost accountant or project accountant.
    Experience fund/ grant accounting and working in the healthcare industry will be an added advantage.
